My first Digital painting.

:::::::::::::::::::::::: Faith...Depleted::Sin...Completed. ::::::::::::::::::::::::

In our Modern age, when We have reached the nadir of morality, AND Faith...no
matter in which God, seems to be depleting away fast.

This artwork is a culmination of spontaneous use of certain tools, Including
Graphite Technical pencil on rotten paper(without eraser), Digital Painting, Photo Manipulation and 3D.

Symboloic of Human sins are the Dices which denote vices such as Gambling,
Distant Background includes structures of relegious worship faded away from
our conscience...and the Towering Godheads resemble The Megaliths from
Easter Islands...which were built and revered much before any relegion took
shape...potraying...That Afterall, we all pray to the same Spiritual
Power...when we do...if we do.

The "Incomplete" look is deliberate... a la Parkes.
It was done to evoke a feeling of blankness and erosion of faith.Maybe I try too hard.

Finally, after Software crashes,reinstallations, File corruptions,total loss of psd files,and Many power cuts in the middle of savings later...I finished in 5 days.and sneaked it in for Expose2.

wow, this is really cool. the only crit i have is a minor one, and it really only has to do with a personal choice. i would have liked to see a little darker and slightly more defined shading on the face to create a lot of depth superimposed on the completely flat look of the unfinished sketches on the paper. maybe it would make it have a little darker feel too, which would have been appropriate for losing faith. But that is just me really really cool work, nice job!

You can say...Im an ardent fan of BOUGEUREAU.The low key of chroma as well as low value was retained to subdue the extensive saturation of colours on the forehead.

Also, if you notice the shadows and Lighting is absolutely soft and thats been done to evoke an emotion of worship and devotion....at least that was the intention.I doubt that I succeded.

But anyway there's always a tomorrow.
