Since the quality of the surface of oil pastel on paper is so nice, maybe you should try drawing smaller pics, so you get all the detail of the surface without having to zoom in on one part.

Capt. Fred: Honestly, I was having trouble getting the amount of detail I wanted at this size. If anything, I'd like to work bigger. BTW, this was about 15" tall, I believe.
Al Ian: I assume there is only one last samurai, which is why I used the title "The Second To Last Samurai". Though, thinking about it now, maybe it's more like last week. There will always be another last week. _________________ http://www.eraserx.deviantart.com
