spooge: stunning peter pan pic!
you have been saying some really geninue words lately and i totally agree with what u said. ( but it is kinda sad too , as i am going to art center soon and u were the guy who inspired me to go there).
and even though u always say that you cant drawing but i still think that your drawing got really good gesture in it, and most of them time it got good structure too.
by the way, your enyala pic made me signed up for that website.
micke: I have been checking out your stuff long time ago! loving drawings and please post more !

Right? Wrong?
Briscola: Funny
Matthew: Great! I kinda wished the hand would pop out more. What do you mean btw ... closed??
zhuzhu: You rock!

AndyT, hey nice to see you will be entering my thread later, cool.
I am also throwing down some more ideas for my thread (picture beneath). I will end the site due to it is way to expensive, perhaps I will start another one.
I got a really generous offer from a guy who wanted to give me hosting so we will see what happens.
Gandalf, ref used, very quick.

I trilled of the chair when I saw last Spooge paintings. I did copied enayla from Spooge and learned a lot about colors. I understand more why are those thrilling. thanks to dramatic lighting, simplized shapes, nice texturing. but that most interesting for me is colours. I think I will try copying colours from masters and learn some things. Spooge is a genius as Rembrandt but he needs to learn more to draw. Yes, I want encourage him to get be better. It doesn't matter now when he has a lot of confidence
note: I fail when I try render details Back to drawing-table |

Spooge: That ice picture looks fantastic!!
Flexible Elf: Cool! Dunno why, but it looks swedish somehow. It reminds me of an old Swedish comic artist.
Now for some strange whales:

When the Mars lander bounced the first time, it squashed the last surviving Martian cockroach.
Matthew, your Gandalf pic is looking much better.
Andyt, well I guess. But I have worked long enough to know when I understand something, it will be fine and I can do it quickly. In Enaylas pic I saw the upper planes of the head making that lovely shadow shape and it painted itself, about 20 minutes work. But sometimes I think or look at something and I know that I am in for an evening of avoiding the wacom, playing a game, sweaty palms, doing another speedpainting (of something I know!) etc. I know I dont understand it, and nothing is going to help that. Sometimes, if I am lucky, I will figure it out. But that is work.
Thanks Popeye, I am responsible for you blowing 4 years and 100 grand? The mind boggles. Well, you have no idea how far ahead you are of the typical beginning student. But dont slack off, I saw others use the same advantage to sort of breeze through things, and in the end, they did not learn much. Use a scrotum clamp at all times cranked up to 2000 PSI.
And you know I would rather have good gesture than good structure any day. Sometimes I think that the structure is simply the facilitator of the action, not an end in itself at all.
More hardcore, please. I bet no matter how hard you tried, you could not do a bad drawing. Come on try, I dare you. I think that is what I like, a design sense that can save anything, that you have.
Thanks Micke, good to see you posting again!
More pathetic oils. I cant control this stuff. I know what I want it to do, but the variables of surface, paint, brush etc. make it so I cant get the edge and activity that I want at all. If you cant control it, you cant draw with it either. sigh

So much darn nice work here lately. I haven't posted on this forum in a loong time. I found out that the only thing keeping this forum alive is the speed painting thread, though I watch this thread every day.
spooge
I don't understand how you can manage to post that many speed paintings of the quality you do as well as doing professional work and living a life It is a reason why you kick butt, nobody should just think that it all just comes for free because you work harder than any other artist I've seen. So it's all well deserved.
I don't understand what you talk about when it comes to your oils. I think you just feel that way because you may feel that you haven't got the control you have with other mediums. But that doesn't show in your picture, in my opinion. It could have fooled me in an art museum, so shut up !
sorry have nothing to post...my sketches wouldn't interest anybody. _________________ personal: www.JoachimArt.com
