I like the expression in the piece, but i feel there are some problems with it.
Try to not think of hair as a million strands of hairs, think of it as a whole complete shape with volume as you have in the face. It's not imposrtant to
attempt to do every strand of hair, it soon looses depth. Although you could simplify it and make it look like there is.
The nose is having some perspective problems looking like it's vewed from a slightly different angle than the rest of the face.
Also be aware of using the burntool. It has a tendency of creating very bright and strong colours creating a bleeding feeling for the eyes. Try to mix the wanted colour instead. Think of the picture as a whole before moving into smaller details like the highlights on the lips and hair etc.

I've done a paintover in orde to illustrate what i mean. Not much has really
been done to it really. Just corrected some small problems like eyes + added some more definitions to the face. I think of shapes as planes which makes it easier to keep track of light and shadow and shapes.
Will post it soon. I lost my password to my site so i have to find another way to upload it:)

-Cheers,
Mikael

Basic tip of the day: The further away eye should be smaller than the closer one. People tend to focus on the eyes, so perspective issues here stick out like mad.

With some more practice you'll get it down.

Here's my example:

Shade the eyes like they are balls. Also they are wet so they reflect light different than say skin. I also tried to make the skin color more alive by adding colors like red, blue etc.. I saw on the shoulder that you had a highlight, which should have been visible on the head aswell, so i changed the lighting abit in order to show it in the face too.

I can see now that i totally screwed up the smile though:/

Good luck. Hope you found any of this helpful:)
