Question:

My drawings always ends up looking all sketchy (and sloppy). How can i prevent that??
I am busy with a pic right now, and i notice that the more i draw, the sloppier the pic gets. How do i creat those good solid outlines during sketching without making a mess?

WILL PLEASE SOMEONE TELL ME HOW TO SHOW MY PIC INSTEAD OF THAT RED CROSS ?

I wrote some assignments to practice that.
Not sure how effective that way is to improve line art though.

First practice line quality. (Drawing long, confident lines instead of short sketchy ones)

Then make the sketch read better with line weight.

And look at good examples and try to copy them.
There are great sketches at Conceptart.org in the Daily Sketchbook forum:
http://www.conceptart.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=41

For example

by Kress:

and so on ...
if you look at them you might think that they are sketchy too.
The difference is that they still read well and capture what's important.

There's a thread about how you should hold your tools:
http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=12548

Hope at least one of those threads helps!

Oh and you have to find another host. Deviantart doesn't allow hotlinking (dunno if it is called hotlinking!?) any more ...
You can try:

Above advice will help immensely. When I first started drawing several odd years ago the first thing I did was learn to draw a straight line. Sounds basic, but lines are the basis of art. IMO anyway
