Hi you guys!
This project took me about 2 years to complete. I spent much time tracking down parts for it.
It's constructed out of plastic and fiberglass and some details
in metal and aluminium. The jumpsuit was sewn by a girl i know. All the hard armor parts were done by different artist and came as vacuformed sheets and uncut and unpainted fiberglass parts. The painting and building were done by me and the scratches/battledamage are 95% close to the original movie used suit. Some of the greeblies are found objects and scratchbuildt by me. The suit even has some blinking lights wich moves in the same pattern as the original on the helmet and in the slots of the breas-plate armor. There is also a blinking light on the Jetpack.
i've invested about 2000$ on parts, materials and tools.
Not to mention the numerous hours spent building and painting..
Enjoy!
Have'nt been around much here lately and i guess this is the reason for it;)

AWESOME!
To think that someone would spend the time and money just for a suit like that!
When and where would you ever wear a thing like that ^_^ |

Superb job! Congrats!
The details looks great. The best part must be the ever so cool helmet of course. I remember seeing a "my self as boba" kinda photoshop painting at your website so I quess Boba Fett must be a really beloved fixation for you.
I really cant even figure out how much work your suit must have claimed. Really admirable. Not so many people propably wouldnt have the energy and skill for something like this.
Lots of respect! Pleasent dreams. (I suppose you sleep wearing it, I know I would )
Edit:
Have you seen the original suit in real life? There were SW stuff exhibited couple of years ago, I remember that it was at least here in Finland. If it was in here then it must have been in the other nordic countries too, including Norway.
Just courious, now you dont have to reveal your secrets or anything, but it would be very interesting to see process pictures of making the helmet. I make masks (heres some: http://personal.inet.fi/clan/grottoart/v4/gallery.html#masks ) and therefore I would be thrilled to see hows it done.

That.... is...... soo... man...
to make a wet dream into reality.... whoa.
I salute your hard work, and I'm sure halloween will be a fun fun time if you can manage to wear that in the public.
I always have wanted to get a storm trooper suit, hehe, star wars... i dunno, makes you just want to be part of the movie... but I think I wouldn't make it into the imperial clan because of my.......vertically challenged..... body.... *damn shortness sucks*...... i'd probably look more like a mere Ewok in a trooper suit.... DAMN YOU GOD!!!!!! _________________ Just remember, when in doubt, even monkeys fall from trees sometimes. |

Hello? You wear it while you chase around the neighbor's dog with a can of spraypaint.

Holy crap! That's awesome, Micke. The paintjob is excellent! Very very impressive. I've seen a lot of Boba Fett costumes and this is one of the best.
Are you with the 501st? |

thats bad-ass. you must be either stinking rich or be obsessed with star wars (which is not necessarily a bad thing, hehe). you would totally win first prize at some convention contest |

Thanks for all your kind comments
Well to start off: I'm not rich! I've saved up, stopped drinking myself silly each weekend and got rid of stuff i did'nt really need. This costume was sold just a couple of days after i completed it to a big Swedish collector so i got the money i invested back + a great more for the time invested, so i'm happy as can be:)
The costume were never really meant to be worn or used by me. I had a mannequinn for it to display the suit. But i have to admit it was really cool trying it on!
The fun for me really is to build and paint it up. That's the thrill for me. To make it exactly like it was down to the smallest scratch(No i'm not Autistic;) ). It was a great challenge.
Bishop6:Yeah, i was in the 501st, but it really did'nt give me much. I traded the Stormtrooper costume for some Boba Fett parts:)
Tinusch: Not too much. The helmet weighs about 1 Kg and the backpack about 3 Kg.
Pleasent nightmare: I hope you're joking
Noxi: Have'nt seen it in real life, but i have a CD full of 1000's of photographs from those exhibits. I wish though;) I think it has toured in
Engand, US and Japan and some other countries, but not in Scandinavia to my knowledge. Many people do their masks or helmets out of Cardboard, believe it or not, This one here is a Sculpt over a comercial helmet available
and the cast in fiberglass. It was done by a talented artist from Scottland.
Nice masks, btw! |
