That's incredible! What's the highest res of that picture you have? Do I have your permission to print it off and put it on my wall? ![Very Happy](images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif) |

Good work, nicely textured. The only crit I have of it, is that we don't understand why she's down and why she got beat up or whatever happened. There's no precedence to show for what happened to her.
But otherwise the piece is really damn good. ![Wink](images/smiles/icon_wink.gif) |

Amazing texture and that expression of total fatigue is awesome!!!
I could never even begin to understand how you did all that. |

This is really fabulous; like everyone else, I really love what you've done with this. The time and effort you put into it really shine through.
As much as I like how it turned out, though, some parts in the background are bugging me a little... The perspective on the broken concrete wall, the metal mesh under the floor on the right, the tank thing in the background, the metal bars in the wall and on the edge of the platform behind her all feel slightly askew. They're rendered beautifully, but the forms (especially the metal bar on the floor behind her) don't sit as well as they could; they're all in slightly different planes, and this mars the sense of depth and perspective. It ends up looking very flat. The metal mesh on the left has a different vanishing point than the metal mesh on the right; the tank in the background is tilted at a different angle than the floor she's resting on, etc. For an image this complicated, it is extremely helpful to set up a perspective grid for the entire image before beginning. I would do an overpaint, but perspective isn't my forte unfortunately and I don't want to give you the wrong advice; maybe someone else can help out?
Also, if you're going to put this much time and effort into a piece, carry that effort throughout the whole image and don't resort to using a cloud filter in the background. It's distracting and looks bad. Painting anything (even a hazy fog) in the background rather than using a filter will look ten times better, trust me. You did such a nice job on the figure and overall texturing, I'd love to see more of that in the background.
The figure is stunning and overall I really love what you've done. Great job! ![Smile](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

wow! i really love the figure, it's pose and texture...but why is the lighting so dodgy? it seems that there is one basic light source in the background, yet the figure is lit from various other sources as well (her left shoulder pad, for example)...i still like it a lot though!! _________________ it pays to be nice...and it's nice to be paid |

I'm curious if you did the line art on this also? My friend pointed out that this image has been used in some coloring contests (example).
The coloring job is awesome either way. |

The blood around her arm, hands and legs lookss so real and absolutely gruesome (a good thing I guess) but her bloodstained hair seems somehwat fake it's probabily perhaps it should be more of a red than yellow shine. _________________

Thanks for the great comments everyone. I did do the lineart, a long time ago, and just recently got around to coloring it. There was a color-off on IGN a couple months after I first posted it, so I've seen, (and I imagine most of you) a lot of different renditions. It was really an ego boost to see people coloring my lineart, without my having to resort to begging.
Yeah, if anyone wants to print it out, I'm flattered that you'd like to. Lemme know what resolution you'd like, and I'll upload a high-rez version.
Thanks again. |

if you played the older metroid games, you can tell she just killed motherbrain, the final boss.
Very awesome coloring. As wa already said, there's some perspective issues, mainly that ladder bugs me, and the background looks a bit like it was put together in parts. Samus looks awesome though. I'm just worried she'd suffocate or something. |

Your texturing is incredible for a painter. I rarely see paintes strive to texture details as well as this. Great job on the sharpness and clarity of cell, shape, and lighting definitions. Nice work. _________________ http://prettydiff.com/ |
