Except the initial sketch(about 6cm) this is all done in PS7 - Fullsize 4800*3600px.

Yeah, really nice piece, D.

My crit would be that the snail has some quite sharply defined detail while the guy - esp his face - is more vaguely defined. IMO, either the guy needs to be more like the snail or the snail needs to be more like the guy.

I agree entirely with sumaleth:

great pic, love it!
but I think you need to tone down the contrasty detail on the snail.

great work man, love it!

im not sure but in your case : using extreme Light coming from behind which didnt cause that much shadow i think it should.

Nice use of colors but i have to agree, The little man looks unsharp or better everything except the snail is unsharp.

Sumaleth, thx for the critique.
Jep, every second person seem to see this difference - no matter if they are profs or just some non-art-related persons.

So i fixed the Gnom a bit ... hope its better now.
*just push F5 once .. old version is here:

This is so cool, I want more of this sort on Sijun. Some minor adjustments and it made a nice 1024*768 wallpaper. Can you upload the full version maybe? Wink
