Hello.
I represent small team of devoted people that are working on a massively multiplayer online game (MMOG). We are currently searching for a 2d graphic artist that is capable of creating graphical user interfaces, full blown 2d images, logotypes, and small iconlike 2d images.
I'm afraid I can't speak much of the game itself since it's a rather unique concept, we are finilazing a prototype for various presentations, and the core of the game.
We are a few close friends who has been working on this during our freetime, we expect to launch the game sometime during the beginning of summer next year.
I'm not asking much from an artist that could do some work on this, we have no publisher/venture capital since it's not a major game such as World of Warcraft.
If you could work a few hours every now and then on this that would be very appreciated. We would also like you to stay with us after launch of the game to make updates, and so on. We can't offer any money as of now, once the game launches everyone involved will get a piece of the monthly income, since it will be pay-to-play.
Sounds interesting?

What Game Engine will you guys be using?
Will this game be full 3D or ... ?
How much experience do you guys have?
Where are you located?
How do you see the market for your game?
Whos your target market anyway?
I can do seamless textures and somewhat nice graphics. I do have experience in the gaming industry. I have experience in running a team of my own. Also experienced in,
- 3D modeling - Digital art - 2D animation - Spinning on my head -
NO idea is a GOOD idea. There is no such thing... everyone has ideas!
Now adays all genres are mixing together... which is cool i think. What makes you so different than anyone else?
I am in my first year at a Digital Artschool. My profession is Game Art and Animation! I have written up many game documents.
What will I or anyother artist get in return? I dont have much time to work on this stuff since im working and going to school. Money would change all that though. Anyways bed time...... _________________ Beaumont 'from the beautiful mountain' origin French |

Hehe, I tried to make a game once. I started on it then realised I didn't know enough c++ then I gave up and now I've forgotten all programming and am drawing a lot more. I would suggest that you finish the game with basic sort of graphics then you can get better ones. This would help the artists get a feel for the game (mood etc) and everything will be more exciting. Its no good having a vague idea of what the game is like and having graphics that are disjointed. |

hi, it donsnt sounds very clear about ur plannings i think if ur moving int to gaming industry u shud have quite good financial support. u will get ood number of people and work if u put it in to perfect bussines track. im in to gaming as a concept artist doing interface character and level designs i think if u can offer perfect value for work i can give a thought, althuogh i have worked for some people on same bases as u r offering and unfortunatly i didnt get good response from otherside,
It will b good for both artist and u do work on perticular agreement so u can also force him to get ur work done in time..........
and what KItamard has asked is very important to know anyone who wants to work for u...if u can answer it, u might get some more clear respose.
Best luck.... _________________ art is fun n mean of life, we all are god gifted with art so share it and enjoy....... |

I knew before I even opened this thread that there would be no money involved.

If you're asking people for projects without monetary compensation involved, be prepared to work at asking. I presume that art school students are sometimes willing to do small projects, since it gives them a chance to add something to their portfolios. Often, it seriously helps if they believe in the project, meaning the project is something they can be passionate about.
I'd like to hear more about this project, wax. I understand the reluctance to reveal details, but is there anything not too revealing you can say about it? |
