@helltaxi: yeah, you're right- those minibrushes don't fit where they are- but i didn't care when the pic was done, because i think its generally messed up... Very Happy sometimes i am too lazy to select the right brushes out of these pulldown-ps- menues...

visual myriad, now thats a fresh style! sweet like bitter lemon. cool pic!

Varg getting slow???

Essenmittesosse- thats EVAR!!

Neff, The tarzan gurl is a much better painting to me, which leads me to the sad conclusion that I am so out of touch. Looga that leg on the sniper girl! Ive seen better in a bucket of KFC. But as I have said elsewhere, good drawing is just good drawing, doesnt get you anything actually.

Flushy, You dont need me to answer this really. Professional is what gets the job done. Whatever works. And I try to use a different process all the time, start tight start loose, on blank, on texture, whatever you can do to juggle things up so maybe you might find something. There is no one way to do anything, and if you reduce it to such, you will have a hard time not repeating yourself over and over. Like I already do, but that is why I try to break things. There will be failures, but pixels are cheap.

But as you are probably figuring out, working within a commercial setting where all parameters are given to you, it can be a little tough controlling your happy accidents so they go in the right direction. Just do a lot of sketches and dont be too quick to fall in love with any of them. When time runs out, decide.

Mark, thanks, you like the other girl! I am not insane! As for the sniper, I wanted her to be wounded, lost a lot of blood, not even using the scope, that sorta thing

Hey guys it's been a while. Here's two of my most recent doodles.

This one I used referance for. I liked the lighting alot so I thought I would try and recreate it.

And this one is my first time playing with Painter. I was just playing around with the scratchboard tools and stuff. Nothing Special.

spooge, what you say there seems to be so obvious or even natural to you- but to me these are nearly new, mind-lighting words, which i hear first from a pro as you are, and i will tack them beneath my monitors on-switch now... Rolling Eyes Smile

[edit] uh, am i a kissass...

found a good use for old oil paintings

EssenmitSosse - Umm I really don't know. One thought, I remember when I was going to school I hated it for a strange reason, I didn't know enough to see the bizarre relationships between almost everything. It all seemed to be rather abstract and arbitrary. Now that I have had a few years to learn a lot of different stuff, I can see how things fit together. For instance why did King George tax the American colonies into war? To pay for kicking the French out! To understand and appreciate this you have to understand a little about economics, psychology, geography, politics, etc.

So that is my roundabout answer to your question, at least for me, I find inspiration in learning about all kinds of different stuff. Since I moved here I have been forced to learn a lot about plants. Never liked or could draw plants before. Now I like them and can paint them much better because I understand them better.

Capt fred, thanks!

Wassup, another masterpiece!
