If you're going to make a comment like that Animagic, try to actually be CONSTRUCTIVE. Tell him exactly HOW you think he could have improved. Otherwise, don't bother to comment.

Anyways, Dan, I think it's is pretty good for a quick mouse sketch. I like the colors used and it has good flow in the figure. I'm assuming you used a photo ref, as this composition looks very photographic?

I think you definately suffered playing with the levels as the contrast is way off now...the bright areas are way too bright. Can we see a version before you tweaked the brightness?

actually, this was without any reference other than my limited experience rock climbing. I somehow managed to save over the unchangedd with version of this picture. I dunno how that happened, but I was trying to get the idea of glaring desert sunlight. Here's an older save from before that lst one got overwritten

Ah, well then it's very good for being without a ref. I hate to paraphrase Mullins (and I think he's the one I'm quoting and he may be quoting someone else in turn) but the brightest brights should only be as bright as the darkest darks are dark. (now that's a mouthfull!)...while you've managed to get that glaring sun feel, you also in turn washed the image out too much. I guess there's not ENOUGH contrast, as opposed to what I said earlier.

Anyways, just my thoughts on it. Smile
