Do you know that feeling of "ouch", when you drop your pen on the floor?
Do you know that feeling of "ouch", when you realize it's broken?
Do you know that feeling of "ouch", when you find that a new one cost approx 40$?

The tip paints as if it was 8 bits or something , reminecent of the glorious Deluxe Paint airbrush (I can't explain this better).
Does any of you guys have any experience opening the pen? Or any other words of comfort
Whimperingly, Sukhoi

Sorry dude. I feel your pain. I've had my pen sent back to wacom for repair before. It wasn't all that painful, since it was for work, and I just borrowed some 3D guy's pen(he never paints. Don't even know why he has one). |

I never broke my pen, but I did have to pay $20 for new nibs. |

funny you started a topic about breaking a pen. i recently started working, not really creative but i have to do alot of repetitive strain work. so its best for me to take my tablet to work every day. the question is, is a tablet vulnerable for constantly carrying it around? just a question outta curiosity. |

Well, it didn't work in ps after I dropped it, but worked in painter, so I decided to reinstall ps, and it worked.
I think it's a rather "Fisher Price" sturdy little thingy! If you have a reasonable method of transporting it.

I wonder if one could possibly make their own pen out of like, copper wire and tin foil or something.
That would be an interesting experiment.. |

Have you noticed how fast those nibs wear out?
I've made TWO drawings and I can already notice! it has a flat side ! I looked on wacoms store and they cost like 10 dollars man thats no good... |

The nibs did cost $10, but there's a $10 flat rate for shipping, so even though they weigh hardly anything, it's $10 shipping. Ugh.
And about that nib flattening problem... That used to happen to me, for two reasons: One, I had a really old pad, so the surface was really scratched up. The grooves and scratches wore away at the nib. Also, I used to press way too hard. Try bumping up the opacity so you don't need to press as hard. |

Someone posted once that Wacom pens have a spare nib that is build into the pen? Take it apart and you can pull out this spare nib? True? |

I have an Intous2 6x8 and as I told you i've made just a couple of drawings, so my overlay is clean and new, I don't press that hard really, I don't know what else to do, maybe the new grip pen is more delicate? man thats not good ![](images/smiles/icon_confused.gif) |

wacom's 4x5 graphire is amazingly durable....
the stylus' has been damn near crushed numerous times and still holds up, the usb cable stays attached despite getting up and walking away with the tablet still attached, and having been pulled taught around the tablet, and the tablet itself has withstood being tossed around, slammed down and upon, and dropped at an angle onto the pavement numerous times.. and still works fine... not bad huh? |
