Any of you guys use a tablet PC?
I don't really like the idea of drawing straight on the screen, but I've been kind of fantasizing lately about a normal-looking laptop with a tablet built into the keyboard area, with a keyboard somehow squished in there too. dunno if it'll happen anytime soon or ever, but...
The reason I'd like it in this format rather than the tablet PC is you don't have to draw on the screen you can look directly ahead at the image like an easel while drawing on a comfortable flat surface.
Anyway, A kid in my figure drawing class brought his laptop in one day with a tiny 6X8 tablet, and he was having a blast. I would love to do digital work with live models, since I'm in the classes anyway. Might as well practice two things at once!
I never got a laptop because I assumed desktops would always be faster and better. Now my four-year-old PC is still working great, but I'm more and more tempted to get a laptop, so: do you guys know if there are any great laptops for handling the likes of heavy photoshop usage? Maybe I'll wait five years till somebody invents this thing or tablet PCs get better.

The Tablet PC's have a piece of plastic covering the screen. So no worries of damage. When it comes to laptops, most anything you buy now will handle PS pretty well assuming you hook up the ram! _________________

I think Id rather see smaller borders and thinner wacoms, like a 6x8 tablet that is only 6.5x8.5 total size and 1/8th of an inch thick. Sorta like a portable pad that works on current hardware. Or better yet, a faster better version of the Tablet Pc geared toward artist, BIGhz Cpu, BIGigs-o-ram, and a big ass harddrive. _________________ Kevin Moore
