Matthew>> I don't think you are posting too much. Don't worry about it. Plus, the more you do, the better you get. I like hard working people and seeing them grow as good dedicated artists. Believe it or not some day you might exceed everyone's or even your own expectation. Anyone could...I believe. Only sky is the limited.

oDD: Cool story Wink . I can see the images now. And I get why the DSG guys liked it Shocked
The snow/cabin image is amazing!

Matthew: It's about the relationship of the values.
For example the highlight on the right side of his face should not be as bright as the ones on left half of his face IMO.
And you painted a plane pointing to the tip of the nose that shouldn't be that bright.
But maybe that's just because it was WIP? I think both yours and Duracels ways work.
You can do really daring things if you keep the relationship correct. If it looks ok it is ok!
I like how you paint new subjects and watch the proportions more now.
Keep it up.

XIA: I like the most recent ones. I commented in your sketchbood @ Conceptart as Signature.
I really like the new more defined ones!

I love the new Gimp version. That doesn't mean I like my images though.
Another one from ref done with a mouse.

I like everything I see here... the variety and breadth of skill, desire, effort and attitude.

Drawn from photo, PS7, I wanted to sketch the colors and values in 10 minutes, but it took 25.

Wicked paintings in this thread, I hope it never dies!

Phew, just finished playing through Myth 1, great game with some nice but short animations. Had to do some painting for a change..
I experimented how far in simplifying one can go while maintaining somewhat finished look, only got this far until it started to go horribly wrong.. (I think Diablo 1 or 2 has a cover like this)

(might post the less succesful version later if I have the courage)
