Hey, I'm getting a tablet asap, and In Europe they sell the 'Volito' apparently. It's pretty much the same as the graphire, only waaaay less expensive, but it has NO eraser at the end ... Is this a BIG difference or is that just a little less luxurious ?
Cheers _________________

I don't think that anyone actually uses that eraser tip anyway (for erasing purposes at least).
Since you need to adjust the erasor size and opacity anyway, it's easier to just use a shortcut key. |

I have a Volito. I never even used the button ... lost the pen though.
Something else that I found interesting is that the nib is not meant to be replaced.
Changing it is possible but it might damage the pen.
It should last the (2 years?) warranty time though. _________________ http://www.conceptworld.org |

I personally don't use it cuz i am crazy fast / faster with my shortcut keys, that by the time I remember i even have an eraser, I don't need it. but the great thing about the eraser is that you can remap the eraser to do whatever you want it to... it doesn't HAVE to be used as an eraser, you can draw with your pen upside down if you want to. I recommend getting a pen with an eraser so you have more options with your tools and you are not limiting yourself. have fun.. the wacom tablet was the best investment i ever made. _________________

I have a Dexxa cause I was short of money at the time - I live in Europe too by the way - and it's even attached to the tablet with a cord.
Even that does not bother me. I don't have an eraser, and have not ever needed it. I just select the "eraser" tool in Painter or whatsoever and use the pen tip to erase.
If that Volito is cheaper, I might try for a Volito though... This Dexxa's getting a little scratchy lol. |

Wacom will cost a little more, but can last a long time. My friend's wacom finally died, it lasted 7 or 8 years. And personally, the eraser is actually useful to me, atleast. It's obviously less sensative then the tip, and makes swashing something down alot easier, plus it won't wear down like the nib will. |

I have a Wacom. I used the eraser at first, but then I found that I had to change the opasaty and size regularly. Since then I use hot keys myself. _________________
