When you are drawing, do you have a music type of choice? Or does it vary with what you are painting? Or does it determine what you paint? O_o
For me, I draw inspiration sometimes when I hear a certain song. Funny thing is that I don't feel like drawing or working on the same drawing if the song changes. |

I listen to a lot of Classical and instrumental music. I always have when I draw (or just anytime). I seem to gravitate towards film music like Jerry Goldsmith, Ennio Morricone, John Williams, Georges Delerue, Bernard Herrmann, and so forth. Those guys are the best. I was just listening to Goldsmith's The Illustrated Man score and have concluded that he's a genius. _________________ Madness takes its toll - please have exact change. |

Hey
I listen to all kinds of music actually and when I am painting or drawing digitally I have my headphones on and keep rocking. Cant say that I am inspired by an actual song or beat when I am making a painting. I just paint away and hopefully it turns out to something.
But yes I have to have music when I am painting, unless I am doing traditional art cause the strange thing is that I dont listen to music when I am drawing with a pen or making an oil or acrylic painting, I wonder why that is? haha could be the fact that I dont have a stereo. :)
So Phyrexial, hows it going otherwise with your painting and drawing?
It would be cool to see some new piece. :)
have a nice day

Sorry for the repost, I didn't see that other post.
Matthew: I'm still at the painting. I did some looking up on anatomy, it kinda got boring after awhile. I still try to go back to it now and then but for now I feel that it is more enjoyable to just keep drawing everything I see and whatever just happens to come to mind. Lots of speedies resulting, but nothing post worthy yet. |

I just posted the link because it might be interesting for you.
It was not meant to be a "use the search" post or something like that ... _________________ http://www.conceptworld.org |

I knew, but I still felt "n00bish" in posting something that had already been done.
Thanks anyway. |

I mainly listen to metal naturally, so that is what i tend to listen to whenever I draw.
Metallica S and M( San Francisco Orchestra and Metallica) Cd is a great cd to listen to while drawing. It combines the joys of metal, with the beauty of classical.
Ps: First Post, Hey all ( will post some of my work later) |
