hey im new here on these forum (and in forums in general) can anybody tell me how to post a pic. i have a pic and i want somebody to give me some tips on it

alnico, when you post an image via the [img] thing there are NO spaces, See put a space afer the first [img] so the code would show otherwise you would just see a

this is what it says in the FAQ, the Question mark in the upper right.
Can I post Images?
Images can indeed be shown in your posts. However, there is no facility at present for uploading images directly to this board. Therefore you must link to an image stored on a publicly accessible web server, e.g. http://www.some-unknown-place.net/my-picture.gif. You cannot link to pictures stored on your own PC (unless it is a publicly accessible server) nor to images stored behind authentication mechanisms such as Hotmail or Yahoo mailboxes, password-protected sites, etc. To display the image use either the BBCode [img] tag or appropriate HTML (if allowed).

It seems as if hotlinking is not allowed there.
Try to rename the file extension to txt.
And don't use spaces in filenames.
Call it:
elegy_copy.txt
instead of:
elegy copy.gif
Right now people can view it if they copy the text:
http://alnico.1accesshost.com/_webimages/elegy copy.gif
to their address bar.
About the image:
You should define a lightsource. Seperate light ans shadow better.
Don't rely on lines so much.
The mouth is too small. You should use reference (if you haven't).
I like the palette though. The colors work together nicely.

elegy_copy.txt
Then add a post with [img]http://alnico.1accesshost.com/_webimages/elegy_copy.txt[/img]

No it doesn't. People have to copy my version to the address bar.
If you always make them do this you won't get many comments!

are u sure my link doesnt work? its a new one and i checked it on another comp and it works there but its not just the picture theres a banner at the top
anyways im going to do what u suggested and define the lights and shadows more. thanks for the advice |

As long as there's no images visible directly it does not work. 
Don't make people visit links. If you still want to ... don't complain if there are not enough comments.
