Hello
In 2 days I have been in this forum for a year.
Well, time goes by fast when you are having fun and I have had a lot of fun here in Sijun forums, it has been some rough times too but I guess that is how life works.
I remember when I started to post here a year ago, I think I had one reply in that thread and I posted some pictures from geocities that didnt work and the pictures wasnt good at all either...hehe.
Since then I have had a lot of help from you people and also made a lot of friends in here, I thank you all, I love you guys and I love the speedy. :)
Maybe you have seen some early sketches of this Orc in the speedy, I have also made an Acrylic painting of a similar Orc pose.
Keep up the good work guys
Matthew

Looks like you have improved your knowledge and perception quite a bit since last year Mr Matthew. Keep drawing and painting, work on your anatomy. You're doing well. _________________ http://www.somniostudios.com |

You won't believe me but I remeber your first post hehe...didn't reply thought
Awesome image. Man, you have improved so much - that's stunning
I know, I say that all the time but since it's the truth...well
The style is great and so sharp too!
The hand is wonderful painted...like you have stolen the talent of some masters
Keep up the good work.
The second year will give you at least twice as much skills as the last one.
see you |

Nice... You've made so much improvement since you got here, it's unbelievable. Could you post that really old picture of the guy in red holding the giant Q-Tip, just for comparison? |

Guys I really appreciate all the commments here, thank you all. :)
henrik -- hey nice to see you in my thread, thank you for your comment here.
Tomasis -- ah yea thank you tomasis, I will send you an pm later when I have scanned the acrylic-painting and then I can answer your latest pm also, the acrylic isnt that good at all actually, well you will see. thank you for supporting me.
gamerplus -- thank you.
Max Kulich -- you have been a really good friend here and I really appreciate your comments here. You are right about the hand, kind of have that michaelangelo touch. I hope I will improve the second year aswell, thank you Max.
Andromeda[*] -- ahh yea I got really happy when I read your post, some very nice comments, thank you. :)
Tinusch -- haha that old q-tip guy, yea I remember that one and I went through some of those old pictures. I will post some of the old pictures beneath the text here, thank you. I remember I was flamed about that picture..hehe.
Ilya Zilberter -- is it 6 posts a day? :) Wow, thank you.
maxetormer -- hey, yea I tried to post in all the 0 threads a while back but it got too much and now I try to post when I can in the newbies thread. I like your style in your art so its very cool that you are in my thread, thank you.
viag -- thank you viag, I really appreciate that you keep giving me comments.
togusajr -- thank you
broken pixel -- thank you
Ohh yeah it has been many posts and it feels like a history lesson when I am posting these old pictures. Once again thank you for all your kind comments people. :)
Behold the power of my old pictures...muahahaha. :)
The first one was posted in the wip thread and I made him red first and then after a while he became blue. Spooge made an over-paint of this picture and at that time I didnt know that Spooge was Craig Mullins but I really liked that over-paint back then, I was told by Max that spooge was Craig. Spooge still has that picture at his site and it is called Mattthew.
This second picture was posted in the Gallery finished and I was working maybe 3-4 hours on this one back then, I remember I felt good about this piece and thought it was pretty good. I remember that Jr and Mindsiphon made over-paints over this picture and then I saw how bad mine was...hehe. :)
I called him Jungle Creature back then.
The thing is with my old pictures, my old site was stolen and I wasnt allowed to get back to it so I had to make a new one, that is why the old pictures from the beginning a year back wont show.
And so the Q-tip guy, haha, I tried to make a lot of characters with different poses but the strange thing was that apparently I made this same strange pose in all of my characters, even in my Robots and Mechs, I think I was doing more Mecha Robots back then.
This character was also over-painted by a guy who made fun of the picture, I wont mention him cause I made friend with him and he is cool guy.
And yea that was a few of those old pictures and when I am looking at them I can see that I have learned some things but I still have a long way to go, I hope I will improve even more this year.
see you and have a nice day

I forgot to tell you how much you improved.... dear lord, your still-life in the speed painting thread, that's absolutely amazing.
Keep up the good work Matthew. _________________ "my god, it's beautiful the way the crimson syrup drains away. the art in the knife as it lathers red milk. you are my canvas." -boys night out |

Matthew,
When you joined a little over a year ago, some f the long time members had been leaving because of all the N00bs posting more and more work and then getting all mad when anybody critiqued their work. So you appeared right in the middle of that "rough time" and Ill admit, Im ashamed to say, I kinda had an attitude about you too. (for instance my little cartoon about you and teletubbies) But I really do think that you have come a long way since then and your art has really developed. You seem to be somebody who has gleaned alot from this forum and the many great talents here. Good job man. Good for you for plowing through all of our jokes and trash talking. Good for you for becoming an active helpful member of our community here. |
