bengal-nice to see some different looks from you!! I got to work on a line drawing too now.

xia-you bastard, you lucky guy, getting bengal to color your stuff...damn you! keep it up buddy.

vyle-how can you be so loose yet so hold the picture together,...and its done with the subject matter being mech women...wow..that is hard to do.

I thought I was out of here. But I've got one last thing I'd like to say to Craig Mullins, and apart from hiring you, this is the only way I have to get a message to you.

Craig, I think I finally understand you. You used to be an illustrator that would take crap from the interenet and stylize it enough to avoid litigation. A load of empty work. Then something woke you up and you realized what a cheap hackish way that it to get money. Now you're struggling to gain your own skills and finally start drawing things that mean something to you.

Now, I think I understand your perspective at least a little bit. I used to idolize you, man. Now I realize you're a man in penance for his past artistic mistakes.

At the end of the day, I hope you'll start drawing the crazy dream ideas you have. Then maybe we could all see the real you.

Good luck with your life. I have considered you a friend.

Bye everyone. I'm just so tired.

Hmmn. Spiral Eye that's interesting....and INSANE! Spooge, don't listen to the nay sayers, there's a whole generation of artist that are inspired by what you do.

Right now people are looking at your work and deciding to do art. Mainly because your work is, and always has been, fresh and original. They might go into a totally different direction, comics, advertising, games, etc, and do work that looks nothing like yours, but YOU inspired them.

Your work, along with Terrada's, was some of the first digitally created work that didn't look "digital". It caused me to start playing around with Photoshop, now I do almost all digital.

I know I don't need to say this because you're a professional, and hopefully this kind of stuff rolls off your back. Just in case, you don't have an empty portfolio. You're truly one of the greats.

I hope this ends here, this was a speed painting thread, meant to show paintings, and give each other encouragement.

Sorry for the rant.

...and now, my crappy art:

I just dont understand why everything has to be analyzed all the times. This is a speed thread and Spooge has been kind to us and showed us his work with life-drawings and his wc paintings which I love.

Keep up the good work Spooge and keep posting your great work. :)

if you want to fly, all you have to do is forget to hit the ground.

Today I signed a contract to change careers and emmigrate to Canada. I'm leaving the UK to work for an amazing game developer in Toronto as a level designer. One of the main reasons I have been able to do that is thanks to the inspiration provided by a ton of artists on the 'net, Sijun, and on this speedpainting thread in particular. I'd like to thank you all Smile yeah and in particular, you, Mr. Spooge Smile for so much inspiration.

Here's something I did a while back. It's obviously 'very heavily inspired by' Wink one of the Mullins bond concepts. The UT2003 mod I was working on asked me if I could sketch something based in a similar snowy mountainous scenario that would fit a level layout we had:

I think it's a great example of 'how you can start on the left there and the perspective is ok, but then you extend the drawing and it goes distorted as it get's near to you on the landing pad' Wink
