Hi, i have a dilema, well actually, not really, but ya.
I've heard a LOT about, sheriden, and how it produces students in the computer animation, and classical animation field that get swept up by large companies. Now they require you to have a visual arts degree, and a prof of mine told me its a whole load of crap to discourage people.
Anyone here attending Sheriden school? Do you have links to your portfolio you sent them so I could see the level of art they require for one to get it.
Any information about the arts progrma there would help. I have looked them up on the web, talked to many people, however, I still feel I am not nearly prepared for the crazy competetion to get in.
IDeas? Questions or comments? Dr. Bang has the same dilema as me, as we are both being slaved away by computer science professors. |

Ok I'm a student at ACAD and I want to tell you only one think, If you applying to the Sheridan York Joint design program do NOT apply through York never ever. I did this mistake. And do you know what they did. They told me over the phone that I wasn't accepted, yes this is right they lied to me. I checked their web site after i enrolled to acad and it didn't say that I wasn't accepted.
But from the info I have sheridan has one of the best animation programs in Canada, and I can assure you I have researched a lot of opportunities:-) Best of luck |

Hi all. I'm a 2rd year student in the York/Sheridan Joint program.
tzekin, you *can't* apply to the Joint program through Sheridan. It must be done through York. I'm sorry you had some confusion, but if you were accepted to the program, you should have gotten a congratulations letter in the mail. I'm working right now as part of the development team for the program site, and I am not aware of any area which lists the names of those who did not get into the program. In fact, I don't know of ANY school that publishes their rejection list, heh
So to those interested in the program: York/Sheridan Joint Design |

Sheridan is unbelievably anal about the portfolio business - you better have something rrreealllyy good for them to take you in.
Yorks fulla slackers
But seriously, work on that p/folio. Work HARD. Get help from professional sources if its possible even. |
