This forum used to mean something.
And now it is overun by dumbshit antics.

I came back here after months of absense only to see that it is far worse than i expected.
No respect, dignity, or maturity exists here anymore.

Why do you think Craig Mullins stopped posting as much.....or Liquid or any of the great teachers?

I hope Dhabih knows that it is out of control here now............

It's not really any more 'out of hand' than it was before. It's just that now there are many more people here. Which brings all the finest things when a huge mass of people are scoped in one place.

It does seem a little less like a learning place than before though.

Sijun is like a lecture theatre, you can either sit at the back and talk loudly, joke and argue with 6000 other people or listen to the lecturer's when they talk at the front.

It's always been like this. People will behave civilized for a bit, then new trolls will join and cause some trouble, then the trolls leave. That's it. I'm usually very civilized, but even I got my feather ruffled a bit recently. It was kinda fun though.

The forum is fine. I don't understand why every week somebody has to stand up like some kind of virtual messiah and preach about how everything's gone to hell.

Even if all of the old timers stopped posting today, their shoes would be filled before they got cold. Have you see some of the new talent that's been posting here lately?

He still posts like crazy but yeah, Dhabih need to get his lazy ass up and have more mods. I understand hes lazy, but he can't be THIS lazy.

THIS JUST IN, DHABIH is working on TF2, Valve instantly extend 4 more years for development. HORRAY!

And look at all the topics in the Digital Art Discussion forum. Other than few wacom post, the rest are excellent topics contained by great debates.

Here's a famous one recently, it was a heated and long debate. Suprisingly, i didnt see any "gay, fags, fuck....etc" types of insults.

I haven't come here in over 5 months
because of what was going on then.
Now there are a thousand more members and still only 3 moderators (well really 2).

It just doesn't make sense to me.

It's a whole better then it was at the begining of 2001. Back then almost every thread was a flame war. We have a few bone heads running around ( Amanda..etc etc ) but for the most part people are pretty cool

Providing an awareness is all good and well, but for what gain?.
From past experiences, bringing to light the fact this forum has a problem within its community does jack shit.
Regardless of how anyone feels, it is what it is. If anyone feels they can make a difference then be my guest, though plenty of discussions have come and gone and we're still at a point where people feel its necessary to bring 'awareness'
Good on you for caring, caring is good, but unless you know something I don't, those that have the power are moderators & Dhab's.

EDIT - plus we each have the ability to gain what we want from it and not get into flame sessions.
Our choice whether we get envolved in arguments with random forum gimps.

Well I should probably just keep my mouth shut because I am not an old school hardcore sijun gang membah and therefore, it seems, I have no right to speak. I've been posting on and off for a few months now and I have enjoyed checking back here very much. The discussions are usually civilised. And there is a great deal of humor around to keep things fun.
What does irritate me is that it seems kind of pointless to post my artwork here for critics. I've tried it a few times and I have never really gotten anything out of it. And there is this constant talk about the great masters like they are some kind of religious figure or something. I just wonder if that is out of respect or just to lick their asses.
Anyways. I think this is a decent place.
And if people think there are too few moderators why don't you offer to become one yourself?

Like I always say; the only really bad thing the Sijun Forum has developed these many years is the mass of people complaining about how bad the place has become (for little or no reason).

For the most part i think that the forum is doing really well, especially in comparison to the time Dhab had to close it around the "lumental scandal". I have to say almost all my advances in art are due to this forum. I'd say the only real problems with the forums are 1. Amanda, and 2. people who bump thier own art after 5 hours of thier stuff being up. Its also a source of inspiration, the stuff being posted here. Though sometimes the way Dhabih is treating the forums reminds me of Einstien's saying on god. I don't know the exact words, the essence was, "god is like a clock maker, he built the universe, started it up, and walked away for better or worse."
