Here is a bit of me again - painted in two breaks on a Network-Session.
This is painted with Real-Life-Ref (people still moving while speedpainting)
And here something to relax. ^^ (without ref)
@DrunkenMonkey
"I HAVE to use reference. I can't paint anything without first studying multiple photos of how color works on whatever idea it is i am painting. I wonder how long it takes to be able to come up with this stuff from the minds eye."
Well, studying photos or RealLife - well, you have to, but just put in mind special thinks - that'll do, imho. So, first study, then try to remember while painting.
Things like "sky near white on sunside noontime" or "waterfalls in shadow are grey, not white". _________________ Lars Gtze

Spooge: I really don't have any word for your stuff anymore.
Zlu: Love your style! Really! The way you paint are so amazing.
Popeye: I really like the Knight you did, it pretty cool! Love the comp and the feel of your new one.
M103-324: Awesome stuff man! You paint like an animator, very expressive!
oDD: Awesome!
Lepensky: Danm! That's beautiful
I will try to do more stuff, other than this stupid life-drawing!
Twenty minutes
Great work guys!

XIA - Thank you, yea once a week but soon I will have life-drawing 2 times a week. Good work on the second life-drawing there. :)
I read on the back on a milk package and apparently the Pirate Flags were red from the beginning and the flag was called Jolly Roger which in french is called Joli Rogue and means "Beautiful Red", maybe I am wrong with the french spelling so correct me if I am wrong you french dudes. :)
Viag - you rock. :)
zhuzhu - still amazing. :)
Duracel - I am glad you are back, nice pictures and a nice tip there. :)

Wow Gecko, that last one blew me away. And of course yours too spooge. Everyone else is doing excellent work. +12 coolness points if you're painting pirates.
Here's my pirate:
arrgh
EDIT: woah, pro, you posted at the same time as me. That rocks, I'm ashamed to follow you like so. _________________ artpad.org |

Gecko-- Very cool feel of textures.
Pro-- When are you going to make the jpg's bigger at your site? They're so tiny! |

These all took 25 minutes and done in Open Canvas. The event files if you want to see the process(each stroke is recorded), can be downloaded from my site. Not much to see though, cause I'm still way an amatuer learning... _________________ kenchan

Gecko, wow, I love everything about that last one, it makes me feel like I'm there!
Wassup, man, that looks painful! Lush background colours
Pro, there's so much life in your 'plurbus' image, I can sit here looking at it for ages!
Cicinimo, that's one mean looking pirate; if he fell over on his boat, I swear he'd put a hole right through it!
Thanks for the nice comments, folks, I am flattered! I did another, but I'm not too chuffed with this one to be honest. Roughly 20 minutes, the mood of it is much calmer I think:
Keep up the great work everyone!

hehe Bengal, glad you liked it. I was just scribbling away when I painted that exaggerated peak of the face (which is so cool and loomis would not have approved so screw loomis) and I said "that's bengal!"
Glad you were not offended.
I thought my pirate days were over after that movie, but, it not the pirates fault:)
Hi Greg, good to see you back here:)

Awesome work everyone. The standard here is still top.
spooge demon: This one is really, really nice. I like the way you have the light coming through the waves that greeny tint. Almost a a bit bierstadt.
Cicinimo: Great stuff!
zhuzhu: You have a really nice style. Very clean.
Gecko: Nice to have posting again. Cool mech. |
