The rules of Draw Club:
. Each theme will last exactly one week.
. We're looking for an effort, not a 10 minute sketch.
. You are not limited to the digital media.
. Do not "reserve" your place, post an image only when you have something to post.
. Feedback is encouraged.
. Keep away from interpretations of an adult nature.
. Post as many times as you like.
. Have fun.
Draw Club #22: Frozen Time
A frozen moment of time. The rub here, of course, is that all representational, image-based art is a slice of action by its very nature, so the challenge here is to find a subject or composition that rises above the normal to truly encapsulate the title: Frozen Time. _________________ Art Links Archive -- Artists and Tutorials

The idea was for an hourglass filled with ice & snow instead of sand, but it ended up looking more like a strange salt shaker

The first thing that came to mind on reading the topic was an episode from the animated series of Batman where this guy called "Tempus Fugit" could freeze time or slow it down. I can't remember much about the episode at all and this probably looks nothing like him.

Very nice, ceenda. I like the composition of that. Very dynamic but fits with the frozen time theme quite well. |

nice stuff everyone!
especially ceenda! (it reminds me somewhat of the mad hatter!)
I thought that these old projects fit this dc pretty well.
here is a project for art class i did back in the end of december.
this is the main image that i drew in flash5.. it is called "death's rolex":
then i printed it out over four sheets of paper, cut the shape out, and used it for a SILKSCREEN PRINTING to create a "warcraft3-esque" ward/banner called "The Corruption Ward". (the orcs were my fav, and the shamen influenced me greatly.)
the banner stands about 6 and a half feet tall...
i like how it turned out... went over to a friends house and took some photos of the ward in the forest. here was my fav photo i touched up in PS a long time ago:

@herb
Im sorry for this. I overread "time" in the topic and just thought of something frozen. That is, why it doesnt make any sense. You can delete this post if you want to. |

ceenda - I saw this one over at CA too and I really like it. :)
I still dont know what you meant with the Stonecutter thing, was it a tip of some kind? I am totally cool with c&c. :)

crazylittleelf, Godwin, Tinusch: Thanks. Haha, looking at the screengrabs I was way off. Been trying to get the Batman Animated Series on DVD but it seems to be Region 1 only. :[
MCnasto: That is such a cool design! Neat photo too, reminds me of the 40k style banners.
Matthew: Hehe, the "Stonecutters" was a reference to a Simpson's episode with a secret society (headed by Patrick Stewart). I can't remember what the conversation was about now. ![Embarassed](images/smiles/icon_redface.gif) |

Ak! No - Wait! *runs to catch up*
Here's mine
Whew.
Ceenda - Awesome. I love the clean sharp edges... like all movement is stopped.
MCnasto - I absolutely love that banner photo.

Too bad I missed out on this one, I had a great idea of two people kissing (just their lips, tongues out?) It would have all of the detail and everything to make it look like a frozen moment of time. I think I'll save this idea for a piece I was thinking about starting soon ![Smile](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) _________________ "So...remember, whenya put down one mutha, you puttun down muthas all ovah da worhl." - Mr. T |
