I've been curious too, as there have been a few things that could have been jumped on around here and dealt with. Been wondering for a while. If the current trends continue, there's not much reason to stop by here any longer. |

He shows up in very rare, and very brief little periods. He'll show up and post in a few threads over a couple of days and maybe even draw a picture! Then he disappears again for like 4 years.
All the while Sijun continues to spiral downward until it gets so ridiculous that he can't help but take action. This action usually consists of him shutting down the forums for what he considers a brief period of time. Unfortunately, that usually ends up being months. And then the cycle starts over.. |

Personally I don’t see whats wrong with the board that needs intervention. The boards are in organized sections that most people abide with and the board continues to grow.
The only thing I see wrong is something that cannot be fixed, favoritism. For many, including myself, when they post art they get relatively few replies (but good replies) and others can post a single letter of the alphabet and get 2 pages of replies. There isn’t really anything wrong per say it just human nature.
The only thing I would like to see Dhabih add is “Page Views” like the Hardfourm has, that way if nobody replies we can still see how many people viewed the thread. And I would like to see him extend the number of threads per page as it was before it went down. |

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA if its made by Dhabih, its gonna get delayed by a few years late again.
HAHAHAAH Don't believe me? Read this Wired article about Vaporware 2001: Empty Promises
4. Team Fortress 2: Valve Software has been promising to release this purportedly groundbreaking multi-player game for a few years now. The company's website says that Team Fortress 2 "blends role-based action with the social camaraderie found in classic war movies," but many readers wondered whether Valve was even working on the title.
"This was one (first-person shooter) that would wander off the beaten path," Mike Parker wrote. "And it did more than that, it wandered off into the bushes, never to be found again."

come on guys I think we should show a bit of respect fo Dhab. He has created this place for us to enjoy, he has gone to the trouble of is hosting this forum and keeping it running relatively smoothly. (Eg when ever it breaks down Dhab is quick on the scene to get it back up and running. Im sure he is extremely busy at Valve, and you can't expect him to do anything too elaborate with the forums atm.

sure you can! (it may not be a realistic expectation but that never stopped anyone)
plus someone usually can find the time to type "hi, I'm alive" and then click enter, no matter how busy. |

My theory is and I think it is sound. Dahb doesnt want to put up with the BS of running a community of whinney artists this large. I can't imagine how much bitching and whinning he had to put up with when he was around all the time. I think maybe he got perma burn on the forums..hell maybe he dont even like Sijun forums anymore but runs it out of the goodness of his heart.
Freddio..I hate to say it but that was the most ass backwards statement in the history of history.. The forums goes down and Dahb says.. " No prob have it running in the next few days "... 2 weeks- 1 month later " Ahh guys deffinatly tommrow or the next day " Hell there was even a time when I never thought it was coming back it was down so long.. I deleted the link.. anyways if I was him and I wanted the whole out of site out of mind thing I would just post under another name ![](images/smiles/icon_wink.gif) |

Quasar... I think you're pretty close to right.
I know I wouldn't want to mop up the mess. For the most part we seem to do well here, but I wish there would be exercised, well hell... a little viciousness on the part of Dhab. Some things that happen here go unchecked. I'm not saying every post has to be scrutinized, I can't stand that either. But the lack of respect, responsibility and ummmm, shall we say decorum, around here at times is enough to piss people the f*^k away from here...
Think of the folks who have left altogether, and those who are less frequently here. If there were other places to go... well actually I'm quite sure there are, but I haven't gone looking. But I'd probably be there in a heartbeat... I'd miss a lot of folks here, though.
Anyway, the idea of such an open community inevitably allows in a few idiots, but that doesn't mean it should be tolerated. Nor should a loss of presence of the folks responsible for the existence of the community. In other words, Dhab should come on by. He's probably incredibly busy. But hey, look at what happened when Doctor Frankenstein ran from his creation...!
Okay, bad humor.
If it has gotten to the point where the forum has become unsightly to him, then I think he should shut it down. I know there will be many cries against this, but I would find that preferable in many ways, and it may even bring about another evolution in this type of community of learning, sharing and growing. I still think this is a wondeful place, but perhaps in its current incarnation, it can't exist as Dhab had hoped? |

Honestly i think that Dhab has done a good job with the forums. I mean he is usually pretty good with getting the forums back up, there was just one or two times where he didn't have the time to wade through the mud to fix them that quickly. I think the problem is more from new members who don't get responses in 20 seconds after thier first post and then start posting "SO no one likes my pictures?>?????" 8 times in thier own thread. I think for the most part we have kept this place pretty civil since the reopening.

Dhabih's around, and he told me he's going to get back on the forum. In case you were wondering, we work at the same place. I need to bug him. I don't think he's sick of this place, he's just lazy ![](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

That's good enough for me.

I have to wonder why didn't he just pass the torch on to someone he trusted when this place became too much. I mean, not just to have new mods, but to just hand the site completely over to someone and have nothing to do with it ever again. |

Lunatique: If I recall correctly, Dhab hosts this forum on a friend's server. I don't think he can hand it over to someone else without basically handing the entire forum over to someone else on a different server. |

Ceenda's got a point there...
Ohhh damn! There's a shock to the heart concerning Nova's age and workplace... haha. Damn. I gotta get me a job and find a 3d/digital art course in Australia. Well I salute you anyways Nova! Good stuff! Keep going.. it just hurts a little to know someone my age is at Valve. Damn I need a tablet... *shrugs it off*
OK ok. Back on topic though...
I am sure he's a nice guy and all.. but Dhab just doesn't make enough appearances to be more than a mere myth to the masses (mmm...mmm. mm mm mmmmm... haha).
Haha I sure wish he'd upload some new art though... the stuff in there is getting kinda dusty. ![](images/smiles/icon_razz.gif) |

Nova! Bake me a TF2!
Just being annoying here. Not trying to rag on Dhab, sheesh. I mean, if I can't poke Valve in the ribs about TF2, what is there left to joke about? It's been in development for like, what, 1.5 Daikatana Units? I want to snipzor some dude....zors! |

I'd be awesome to have a job like that at 18. But for me it's college and being unemployed.
I agree with ceenda the most because if Dhab knew that he wasn't going to have time to work on the forum, there are plenty of respectful and responsible people here that would take good care of this place in his place. |
