The rules of Draw Club:

. Each theme will last exactly one week.
. We're looking for an effort, not a 10 minute sketch.
. You are not limited to the digital media.
. Do not "reserve" your place, post an image only when you have something to post.
. Feedback is encouraged.
. Keep away from interpretations of an adult nature.
. Post as many times as you like.
. Have fun.

Draw Club #20: Future Tank

This weeks Draw Club topic is inspired by the recent images of Leo and Sukhoi.

So yeah, show us your designs for a Future Tank. And don't let those two images intimidate you - let them be your inspiration.

I like the 'hover-glow'...

Hey

Ok I finally made a Draw Blub contribution which I worked with for a longer period of time. This was a picture where I forced myself to start out with a drawing, I usully just paint with form but the pictures tend to be better when I start with a drawing, well maybe it isnt better ..hmm.
Anyway I made a tutorial out of this picture which maybe can help some newbies with some things and for the pros to correct me where I made errors in the picture. :)
The tutorial beneath is a small picture and if you click on the link you can see the big version, if someone of you thinks the big version is too small too let me know.
Thank you Sumaleth for keep running Draw Club and thanks to the people in this forum for keep pushing me and eachother, this tutorial is dedicated to the cool and hardworking people in this forum, keep it up :)
I usually never work in layers so maybe it looks a bit chaotic at some places.

Big tutorial beneath:

And heres the final picture

see you
Matthew

With a nod to the EP II work done by Ryan Church for the colour scheme.

Wow, these are just amazing. Nice work everyone.

MCnasto: Really impressed at how quick you got this one in, looks great! Tough-looking and nicely armoured too.

Sukhoi: Very nice indeed! Smile

Capt. Fred: I like the one at the bottom, lots of surface contact.

Matthew: You've done a really nice job here, cool design too.

Mark Harris: Shocked

[edit - removed long boring technical blurb]

I'm sorry for the very quick and rough sketch this time around, but, it will make those above look even better than they do now (superb sukhoi & ceenda), i might work on this and actually finish it up eventually Smile

Great work people!

However, I felt something was missing. So after lots of research on military technology, I came up with what I believe to be a very realistic future tank.

I call the tank of the future: 'Obsolete Due to Superior Air Power", or the ODSAP-1000.

Sorry to just post a comment, without a picture, but I thought I'd tell you guys how nice your artwork is. Looks fantastic. I'm new here, and, aspiring artist that I am, I'm impressed by your stuff. Keep it up. Very Happy

A few great pics this week, although it looks like vehicle conceptual design is something we should come back to in the future.

Draw Club #20 closed, Draw Club #21 open for business.
