awesome work!! nice colors. Only one thing bothered me with this image. The rocket that is closest to the fem. seems to be gaussian blurred when maybe it should be motion blurred? It just seems to be a little too out of focus for how close it is to the camera is all i'm sayin.
but anyway.. i don't really critique much so.. a grain of salt if you please. I've been here since Dhabih had a guestbook and not a forum but i have no room to critque.. but i'm trying.. i really really am

I have to say, I'm very impressed with how well this one turned out. I loved the original version but I wasn't sure how well it would turn out after seeing what you intended to do with it. You pulled it off excellently. Looks great. My only crit would be regarding the border... White borders, in my opinion, tend to give the image an unfinished look. I would suggest either making it black or just using a thin black hairline border. |

Nice use of colors. As nocturnal said, I'm also wondering why you blurred the rocket like that. Does it have to do with depth focusing or motion? Seems like if you wanted to make it so it seemed really close and therefore, blurry, since you're focusing a little farther away. The women would be a bit blurry too if that were the case, since it seems almost as close to us as the rocket. If you look at the bottom half of the picture alone, the rocket looks almost fine. But when you look at the whole picture..it just throws the focus off. If it's a motion blur it doesn't seem to pull it off right. Looks more gaussian, as nocturnal also pointed out. The other rocket looks nice though. I like the pic. What kind of comic are you doing? _________________ -------Wicked------- |

aye i think it has to do with wanting to give to the rockets some sence of motion, any way it is a very good job, i like it because it has a very saturated colors and the image still works well and some times with to much sat. the images look cartoony not the case here of course
IMO a very good job keep em coming. _________________ Never underestimate the stupidity of the human race.Sorrow is the contrast of happines then sorrow is some how the esence of happiness + = |

I really love it! Only one thing to complain about, is the image is too sharp. Only a little bit, but I can acctually see the pixels some of the places, if you see what I mean..? _________________ The truth hurts. Sure not as much as jumping onto your bike with the seat missing, but it hurts. |

If it's a comic cover, where's the logo going to go? They usually go at the top, and I don't see any room for it. |

you guys want to know something?
I wholeheartedly appreciate the digital art community.
I really do.
I believe it to be one of the most powerful tools we have.
Not to mention a solid foundation of like-minded individuals
(which unless you live in Los Angeles is pretty hard to come by)
This morning I was ready to cut my drawing hand off and learn
how to drive a semi-truck...but I see the response from all of you and you've totally
turned my attitude around...
amichaels: yes... you're not the first person to ask this...
the picture isn't really complete... as far as the cover goes anyway...
I wanted it to be encased in a frame (not a picture frame)
a really ornate one referencing elements of the story with little characters and artifacts embedded in it...
but the title would sit atop the frame...
I'll post the final cover here as soon as its done...
I only hope it doesn't kill the art as it stands
Isric: thanks for all the inspiration...
Iddi: yeah... my computer sucks...
only reason for that. Any higher dpi and it would have exploded lol
WikedEwok: I'll try and tweak the rockets a little more...
although they're supposed to be in motion of course, but maybe not so blurred... I'll mess with 'em.
I'm doing a short one-shot comic that may or may not lead to
the whole story... It will be self contained... and the girl and the
guy on the bike are the main characters.
Tinusch: I usually subscribe to that philosophy... but the
white border in this case only helped the image... weird isn't it?
Nocturnal: I actually never used gaussian... weird... I'll try to
tone down the motion blur a little
scabuX, maxetormer:thank you.
like I said I'll post the final cover when that time comes... theres
still some issues to work out within the cover so I'm going to try
and focus on that part for a little while
Thanks for all the great advice, and compliments...
(hangs up semitruck keys...for one more day at least)

You can drive a semi to the studio if you want, but otherwise... |

you see LC3... the story behind that is that before I started
drawing all the time and caring about my work... I was
a forklift operator. I wanted to earn the big bucks and drive
a semitruck.
of course now I have different ambitions... but this morning I
awoke to a relapse.
If it hadn't been for Sijun I might not have been able to stop
myself from abandoning artwork alltogether...
well it seemed that dire this morning anyway...
slumps.... everybody has 'em I guess.
