Capt.FlushGarden: Nice colors on that carrier picture!
Wannabe Snakette. It's interesting to me how a composition can become less boring by simply flipping it. |

I'll try to limit this thread to my fastest work and will be posting some longer paintings in the completed works forum in the coming days. There was a interesting past thread asking others to list their biggest issues in their work and the one that kept coming up time and again was becoming bored with the image and not being able to take it to completion. I think speed painting may be addictive.....

Capt. FlushGarden: Excellent. The WWII+ timeperiod posters and illustrations had a unique feel to them, and this seems very much like it.
gux: Wow, I love this o_O Only thing I could ask for is more exaggerated lighting =]
scumble: I think your 5 hour version captures the emotion much more effectively than your sketch; bravo!
zhu: *drool* Ze lighting... it is good. Ja.
*averts screen for some of the others images* S'no fun living at home with your parents looking over your shoulder. They ask too many questions.
My, eh... 'semi-speedy' contribution. I'm not sure if 40 minutes counts as fast or not in the entire scheme of things -_- The original was done at 4 times the resolution - you don't see half the sketchiness in this:
Too many animals! Arrgh. *switches to futuristic tanks and weapons* |

scrumble : One time I had the same problem, and I had this teacher and he said to me, if you get bored, I'm going to get bored looking at it. So if things start to get boring change something quick. I haven't done any digital work since before I learned this but my drawings improved hugely and I was able to work on one drawing a lot longer.
I don't know, take it or leave it. I'm no genius. _________________ Eric |

ShawnYe - Hey, really nice one there. I also really like your drawings that you have posted over at CA, keep up the good work. :)
I only have 4 colors of my acrylics left, this is what happens then. :)
Can you spot the colors that are used?

Is it obvious yet that I have no idea what I'm doing?
I was trying to simplify planes and do some lost edges things and...pffft...whatever. Works as a color thumbnail I guess. _________________ - Gimbal

forgive the lack of hands. in this case it qualifies as blatant cheating.
