I like the concept, and the colouring is interesting, and for some reason it reminds me of Xenogears... But it's hard to see what the structure of the things being ridden are. The have 3 legs, no arms, and a human shaped head? What are the long arrow shaped things coming out of the riders' arms? Used to stabilize? So is this the concept sketch or the beginning of the digital painting? If it is the latter, I think you went into details far too soon. |

Thanks for the honest criticism, Pete!...
first, a little about the concept... its a tall 3-legged creature ridden by a person.. sort of like a giraffe without a neck. The two swords on the sides are to stabilize and to play golf with peoples heads . The creatures are used on the battlefield because they can easily run over barbed wire..
heres another study.. I think I may keep updating this thread until I run out of server space or am satisfied with the concept...
so criticism still needed! |

Ah, I see now. Thanks for explaining. Hmm... Only three legs though? Wouldn't balance be an issue? Well I think the legs would need to be stronger. You mentioned a giraffe... Maybe you should take that concept a bit further... Like take a look at some giraffes so you can work out an anatomical structure to your beast. Look at other animals too, like perhaps bison or some strong animal like that or maybe a faster animal ( since they are supposed to be able to easily run ). Or maybe even look at insects. I think if you do that your imaginary beast will be a lot more believable and that would add a lot to your picture. Experiment and play around. ( Oh yeah, and those swords must be really light, or else those riders must be really strong to carry such heavy weapons. ) I actually really like the way you do the people's faces though. It's a cool style. |

still developing creature.. this is I think the finished version of the rider...
the sword is also connected at the elbow for support via a hinge |

i really like your style, and i think the rider looks really neat, but i dont like the hinge, i like the idea of the hinge, but i dont see how the one you currently have there would work. |

Cool stuff, but I think you could work some with prepositions. The face needs some work too. _________________ The truth hurts. Sure not as much as jumping onto your bike with the seat missing, but it hurts. |
