Hey peeps
I'm trying to get some digital painting techniques flowing and I could use your help. I would like any input on color and technique....especially on how I could achieve a textured 'traditional' feel digitally. I'd like to get more depth with my colors!
Critique and Paint-overs are more than welcome!

its a very nice concept, you seem to head the good direction with this piece.
depth in colors can me achieved simple: the further down in your image (the bottom of the tower) that the place where you should use more desaturated colors (weakened colors from the original).
the textuers can be achieved b using sharp round brushes at low opacity and painting the textuers your self. I use a shit loud of natural and costum brushes for textuers.
very good perspective btw.

Merlyns gave some good advice. But your perspective is off. The vertical perspective seems fine, but the horizontal is wrong because all the lines leading to the vanishing point ( which isn't there horizontally ) are parallel. I'm not really good enough in the areas of digital painting to help you with the questions you asked though. ![Confused](images/smiles/icon_confused.gif) |
