I've found this to be a useful exercise for honing my abilities to identify (and therefore mix) colors:
I look around for subtle, tricky, highly neutralized colors on objects in my surroundings. I try in advance to identify the "base" spectral color (yellow, orange, red, etc). I photograph it with my digital camera. Then I sample the region in question and crank the saturation up to see what the "essence" of the color is. After a while, I find I'm pretty successful at identifying colors. |

I saw these before, must of clicked on some link somewhere. Anyways, I started doing this the past couple of days and was very interesting to see the results. I appreciate this as I am getting back into 2D from a long departure and this will definately help me when it's time to color again.
