First of all: the face looks pretty good.
What you need is more contrast on the whole image.
Abit more saturated colors. just abit - too much saturation is worse then too little...imo
And the BG needs some work. You want to create some deaph, eh?
Different colors, forms, (clouds, mountains)...abit more detail and so on.
You could make the tree more interesting.
If you have fixed these hings you can go a step forward with lightsource...
Don't missunderstand me, the pic isn't any bad, you have done a great job, just try fix those major things...or not, it's just my taste...well, keep it up

I agree with Max here and he gaved you some great advice here.
I also like the picture and especially the face which have this renassaince style, very nice.
I may be on a thin line and maybe you used ref but I made an over-paint to show how you could make the hair more interesting. If you add shadow and depth to the hair it looks more nice, I used to do strokes like you have made here too but think of the hair as all other surfaces and planes.
It is just a quick over-paint to show you what I mean.
