I am starting out in PS right now and wanted to know are there certain brushes that you (everyone in the forum) use on a regular basis when you paint in PS? _________________ Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it. -Confucius |

2 days ? Thats nothing
Which brush "we" use ? Well thats different to what it should end. When i do speedys i normaly use more of the custombrush to get a quick somehow looking texture. Or as a base for a really finished one i noticed its got to have a texture ground. But i use the "normal" round hard edge brush, too. Just what looks right, what makes sense ore whatever.
Im not sure if that is what you wanted to know. |

The best brush work I have seen from Photoshop is from Loki and Prep. They both use custom brushes to create atmospheric lighting and texture lighting for scenery that is simply fantastic. Spooge might use alot of custom brushes, but its hard to tell from his stuff because its a slightly different painted style.
Custom brushes are made by creating a texture in an empty channel then defining the channel contents as a new brush. I attempted to create same style of lighting using filters in this image from last year that I never really finished http://www.createdbycheney.com/gothic.jpg. While my lighting does not look as good as theirs filters help you work very quickly if you know how to use them, because this image is originally 4000x6000px. _________________ http://prettydiff.com/ |
