My friends MacJ and Popeye convinced me to post one of my sculptures from a class we took, so here it is. All questions and comments are welcomed.

welcome to you guys.
Very nice stuff. Just a 2cents comment : some edges of the cloth should have been sharper for even more striking effects, IMHO. you'd probably improve the overal effect with a stronger contrast between the excellent render of the flesh and the one you did of the fabric. But I don't know much about your medium-guess it's clay, right? and i don't know how thin/sharp you can effectively go with it. Just me 2 cents, again. Post here again !

thanks for the comments. beat I love your work, I think your right about the cloth, it does seem to be lacking something, maybe sharpness and contrast is it. I was using plastalina clay which is oil/sulfur based so it never dries, you can get pretty thin with it and sculpt incredible detail but it lacks stability.

Excellent work ! I do agree about the sloppy fabric comments but that's easily "reworkable" :) ! what the size btw ?

it's a styrofoam core armature. I use that because its cheaper than clay, and makes the sculpture lighter and more portable. Its also very easy to carve with a rasp and you can hot glue it down to a board for stability. After that you just lay on the clay and start sculpting.

Stunning work.

Love the cloth work on his right arm, and the wrinkles in his face.

The cloth on the left arm looks to of gotten far less loving than the other side, and the places where the cloth hits the wood could be flattened and thinned a bit. Otherwise the wetness and the folds make it look like heavily layered silk.

The end of the hair looks a bit weird too. It's a bit too uniform and looks more like a headpiece made out of corduroy than hair growing out of his skin. And maybe it's the lighting, but something bugs me about the nose and the shape of the sphenoid to the side of his right eye doesn't seem deep enough.
