It has been unfortunate that I have continued to be swamped with too much work. I hope this post will be the start of my renewed participation on this forum. All I can share at this point are some sketches from the book "How to Draw Cars the Hot Wheels Way" that is nearing completion. This is why most of the designs are so tweaked and drawn in an obvious toy car proportion. Hope you enjoy. More info on the book as it nears publication date.

Thanks to those of you who have been posting. I always enjoy stopping by for some inspiration, even if I cannot find the time to do any new work of my own, the wheels are still turning for some new pieces in the near future. It does feel good to post something again...it has been far to long since my last contribution.

Here they are, most are small thumbnails, no particular order.

Here are three more sketches and a little traditional media sketch, minus the Photoshop spin blur on the wheels! The color piece here is the end result of a detailed traditional media step by step demo.

Here are a couple of Larry Wood designs I did overlays of before rendering them in Photoshop. You can see the last two images here are screen shots and part of a 20 page digital rendering step by step.

you have an incredible sense of form and proportion, the renderings seem a tiny bit flat to me, but, so what, truly amazing stuff! Shocked they really should contact you Very Happy

Oh boy, oh boy...man, you're almost going to post the whole book. Truly inspiring work. I recently aquired the book "Concept Design" (all the way from California to Portugal), and let me tell you, it's a really inspirational book. It's also an honour to be able to send personal posts to you. Keep up the magnificent work, and thanks for enriching all of us.

wasssup,
Thanks, I'm hoping the flat look is due to them being in jpeg format and on such simple ground planes, I think they will be alright in print.

amoe,
Thanks.

Max Kulich,
LOL, thanks, if it were really built I'm sure it would look strange as hell with those weird toy like proportions and overly busy surfaces.

hedlamb,
Thanks.

andreasrocha,
Thanks, glad you are enjoying the book. We have just started number two in the hopeful series. It promises to be bigger and better than number one. Don't worry about how much I have posted there is much, much, more believe me.

CwStone,
Yeah, Concept Design, is our book. Yeah the ground planes are kept very simple for a purpose in these demo pieces.

Hey

I have seen your stuff for a while and you have a really cool style with perspective and such. These cars above are really cool. I was wondering about a couple of things thou with perspective.
When using a distorted view in some of your shots above, do you only use one point perspective or do you have more perspective points above or by the side of the vehicle? Cause I am wondering how a curvillenear perspective can be retrieved with only one point perspective or are those called winged perspective? I remember Spooge said something about a winged perspective one time.

ok some very nice work from you, keep it up
thank you
Matthew
