Absolutely beautiful. I love the touches of cool color you put all around, even in the warm areas. Is there any chance you might be able to post a step by step of one of these? Not a tutorial neccessarily, just varioius points in the process....I'm curious how you deal with the line art and such while painting. Smile

I love the perspective. So dynamic and different. I think that is why these are so fun for everyone. We're all so used to enjoying the characters in their profile perspective that these are just so fresh.

Wow! Love this picture. It looks very real and 3D-ish even though its a comicstyle. Lighting/colors/perspektive - everything is perfect. Have you made a 3D-Mesh of this one for the perspektive?

Long admirer of your work. this is absolutely compositionally sound.

::rule of thumb never post a comment without a crit because everyone has room for improvement.::

Take a look at the shadows that are being cast from the character. Based of its lightsource, I would think there would be more fadout on the shadow then there is, and possibly more shadow from the body (rather than just the two cast shadows for the legs). hard to say though as this is both a fantastical lightsource and an odd angle to work with. :)for the purpose of fantasy it doesn't really matter. Looks fantastic as always.

Bengal for president. That's it and that's that.

Excellent stuff Bengal. It's nice to see that you doing more elaborate stuff works out as well as you doing simplistic scenes. Lovely.

sukhoi>> only time is missing, else i'd do lots more... thx mate.

j.der>> i'm afraid i've never copulated with a male person... you should check again your family notebook! :P thx!

polar>> yes, this shadow matter has been spotted by two or three persons already... and you're right : the problem is not that the two legs' shadows should join on the ground behind her (i didn't do so just to keep a dynamic with the long shadows...), but the fact that i didn't fade them, that's the problem i think.... ah, too late, maybe i'll be changing this but i'm not sure... thx anyway!!

thomas veil>> no 3D mesh, not even a plastic rule to draw the lines... and i'm pretty sure the perp is wrong!! but at least it kept the image dynamic : that's what counts! no? :) thanks!!

ok, here are a few jpegs i took during the making... not much to learn from it, but this is the first time ever i show some of the process. you can even have the previous paper sketch! i don't know if it helps, but here it is.

first big intentions on the whole piece...

defining some areas

i found it funny to see that with detail, the line could have disappeared if ever i would have intended to!

here i already changed a little here eyes, i realized they were not good.

that's all, you already know the end!

Wow, that's great. It's interesting to see that you actually stay pretty loose all the way through, letting the lines tighten things up rather than obsessively adding detail in the painting process. Great job and thanks alot for the in-progress shots.

Great piece ! love the overall dynamics.
the light in the kitchen definetly gives a lot of depth and sense of details.

As i'm a jackass, i'll just point out the few things i didn't enjoy : that green 'exit' sign and the small perspective issues on the wall's decos (les 3 volutes/spirales qui sortent du mur en haut a droite ne sont pas vraiment cales) Smile
very nice pic Bengal !

all>> thx!

hpx>> yes that's absolutely right ; and if you take a rule to check the perp it's totally wrong (unless we consider 5% fisheyed!! :P )
about the exit, i didn't know until the end what to do, remove or not, and well... i let it here after all. thx mate!
