This is a rework of an earlier seascape... tried to add more interest to the scene

The original is here.

just a comment -- though the second version is great, I liked the original one best because of its simplicity. Things looked more sharp because the sky was bright and it made everything reflect off it. With the gloomy sky the detail work seems less sharp --

But hey, i would never able to do something like.

I love the detail of the bird standing on the stick in the middle of the lake right at the center of the image.

Excellent work, I really like the reflection, grass and the composition.
However, I would try to make the sky a bit brighter and not as dramatic as the current one. Hope that helps.

Hmm, while in the first one the watercolor just make sence(reflection of skycolor) in the newer version the water is much to bright.

Also it looks a bit odd that those wave-reflecttions in the foreground stop abrupt behind the landing stage.

Nevertheless, good work, wait for your next try! Smile

Kamdew... The picture is about an approaching storm with the foreground and middleground elements still in semi sunshine - so, toning down the sky would seem to work against that theme.

Duracel... I think this is probably the most misunderstood picture I've ever done... It is of the Cape May, New Jersey (USA) wetlands - someone thought it was a river. And where as most people seem to feel that there is a lot of water there, it is actually mud and wet sand at low tide, typical of the wetlands at low tide... The floating dock is on the ground, not floating. If floating, you would not be able to see the float barrels underneath...

Ah, that explains it. No need to change it then.

Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one who didn't understand the picture Wink
