Bobuke Bobuke! what have you discovered?!?! That's so good, almost photorealistic in some parts too!
helltaxi: you're getting very good, but I notice you have a tendency to elongate your face, you've probably noticed that already. oh well. Oh and try to add a greater range of colors to your paintings...
here's mine
yuck, the highlight on the cheek is the only thing I like. but at least it's more like me now... |

Hello Omi-kun!
Im to read your reaction!! If you want you can follow the progress of my next portrait under "Work in progress"/Topic:"Face portrait. Tips needed." What I have discovered, I dont know?!?! Perhaps you can tell me when its finished!
I like your greyscale portrait! I will try one in Photoshop after the portrait of "Helle". I love working with black&white tecnics when working without the computer, but this will be a challenge!
Your 5 minutes sketch is lovely. It will be nice to follow your progress here! ![Smile](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) _________________ Art has no key - it can always be improved. Therefor your work can never be finished. Take it as a challenge! |

"Duracel"
I admire you for the way of beeing free according to coulors and lines and still making a real portrait of yourself all the time. I never need to se your sign to know that Duracel made them
I am just now working on a portrait of a friend (under Work in progress) - but at the same time I am planning for my next self portrait and when I think of how I want to paint it I often come to see many of your portraits in my thoughts - they are all there!
This portrait is once again all new! I like the way you have made it a little diffuse and at the same time all aware of the importance of the light - as always! And the red and blue strengthenings are just what is needed to lift this portrait out of the shadows. I like it! First when I read that you had made your 50 portraits I thought perhaps you will stop! Dont - I would miss them! ![Wink](images/smiles/icon_wink.gif) _________________ Art has no key - it can always be improved. Therefor your work can never be finished. Take it as a challenge! |

This is really reallly nice to read. Thx.
about what you said in the first sentence. This comes along with time. In the beginning i had to struggle with making also a real potrait, but this part become easier and easier. So never give up as long as you have fun to do selfportraits. Dont get away from it, just because someone ask with something like "Narcism" in mind.
And well, i won't stop, because the journey is the reward.
Well, i like your second one ... but a bit green - looks like you feel sick, but the smile ...
But those colors look alive.
@Antillesrock ... hmm, hard to say something about. Looks like dodge&burn . .. hmm ... i dont really like it, but its not bad at all. Just post another, sometimes its hard to say something about a picture, if you dont know the artist and his earlier work.
@helltaxi, really like your colors. And very good sense of where to show or left details!
@omi-kun, doog work, keep it up. Nothing special to say.
Here is my next one ... yesterday night ... 30 hot room ... but today its not as hot anymore

Hello Duracel, man of power U have of course dreamt of a cold and nice waterfall in that hot room of urs!! Nice!
I thaught this thread came far too long from the top of GFW so I had to do my third one...
Hope this will inspire all of you to take a break from ur samurais, monsters and scary skies ....eventhough Im
so impressed by all theese interesting pictures and all of u making paintings to which Ive still a long, long way to go!
U all make me so inspired to start work again! Thnx a lot!
This was ment to be a speedy one of one hour - but this is still impossible for me. Nearly two hours!!
This portrait has been posted in a new and better version, 27/7, on page 43!

@Bobuke, hehe.
Your Portrait looks great, but its a bit dark overall. Put some white or hghsaturated-yellow highlights in it, would look very nice, im sure.
@username
@tomasis
@leclone66
And here is my first attempt to paint a greyscale-selfportrait in photoshop.
and, as you can see in the background, i got a new very large second mirror.

@"username" Ive never seen a portrait made with the image surface crossways before but it sure
strengthens the expression of ur face! Its good - I like it!
@"leclone66" Funny caricature! I must take a closer look back in this thread to se if I can find some
other posted picture of u. Im curious to se if that goats beard of urs is new!!
@"Duracel" I have tried to be a good girl...doing exactly as u said! Satisfied with this one? Please be
tough with me when u critisize - I can stand it u know!
Ur portrait is very good this time - I can see its u - but I didnt notice, until now, that u are such a good looking man!!
With my right hand on the mouse and my left one on CTRL+Z...here
comes my next selfportrait.

Zhuzhu, welcome back!
But do not think of leaving again!
Thx all. Well, it seems like someone has to lead this thread, first Torstein's portraits in the beginning, than Chiani's 100, and now im able to get new people here and bind them in this threat-community only by painting selfportraits - a great feeling, thx all!
Here is a new one, tried out acrylics first time ever - so my concentration was around this new medium. dont judge me by the proportions and the perspective this time.
