Hi,

In Painter, the "tool" is the Brush tool found in the Tools palette or by clicking the "B" key for freehand painting or the "V" key for straight lines.

With the Brush tool active, you can choose from a large number of brush categories, within which are a large number of brush variants.

What you're looking for is not the tool, but the brush category and brush variant.

Since you mention blending, I guess you must mean the Painter 7 Liquid's Just Add Water or Grainy Water variants?

In Painter 8, some brush variants carried over from earlier versions are moved to new brush categories. Logically enough, the Just Add Water and Grainy Water variants are found in the Blenders category along with some other really nice blending variants.

Try 'em! Smile

Yes, Jin has told you the brush you are looking for (Just Add Water, under the blenders drawer). It may be the most envied brush by the Photoshop users.

Nah a great blender is the palette knife from Rob Chang's brush pack (http://enchanted.prohosting.com in the goodies section). When you first start press hard and (dark into light is ussually better) make little squiggles twards the ligher color. Then pressing VERY lightly move up and down the squiggles blending them togeather and making a smooth gradient. This is the method I use and it works really well for me, it takes practice but its worth it. Oh, hey Jin its the same Smurf from Tutor Alley. Smile

Hi there, my favorite one and only same Smurf from TutorAlley!

I'll have to try Rob Chang's "squiggle" brush. Very Happy
