Just some random thoughts ...
The cast shadow suggests that she is lit from above.
The way you painted her only the shadow under the chin and mabe the legs look coherent.
You should probably use reference images to get the lighting right.
Also the shape of her torso is weird. The pose doesn't look natural ... I guess because of the arms.
You know http://www.fineart.sk/anat ?
The left hand (her right hand) could do with some work IMO.
You should find a more interesting view.
The head, the body, the legs, the hands the dagger ... you chose front views for all these things.
If you don't know this tutorial already it might help.

Don't worry about details too much ... simplify.
But that doesn't mean paint smudgy or blurry.

Look at the images Tinusch posted in the thread above.
Seperate light and shadow better ... don't just use white for highlights and black for dark areas. _________________ http://www.conceptworld.org |

This is what I am coming up with, after your advice, AndyT.
Still in progress.

Much better. Make sure that all areas are lit by the same source. Her left arm and face seem to be lit by a totally different source than the rest of her body. You have to work to convince us that it's all being illuminated by the same light, and right now I'm pretty sure that her left arm (on the viewer's right) is being lit by something either down and to the left or up and to right, depending on whether I'm looking at her forearm or upper arm, repectively. (I'm pretty sure that sentence was more confusing than it should have been.)
It looks like you're heading towards a large improvement over what you first posted. |

The legs are looking very nice but the crouch area looks very strange... maybe adjusting the swimsuit there will make it look better.
Her hands are a bit small as well. |

Welcome to the forums. I think I saw your work on elfwood several years ago.. very impressive stuff. If there aren't two Andreas Rocha that is.
I remember your name because I made your "girl 2" into a wallpaper which I used for about a year
And your LotR picture is quite well renowned. I know loads of people who use that as their wallpapers. |

Thanks Diruo! I hope you still read this. Quite a memory you got! And it's an honour that my LotR image is so popular.
Tomorrow I'll post more work in progress of the "Swimsuit Girl"... |
