How much do you artists usually charge for creating background and character art for games? I know everybody's contract prices are different, but I'd just like a few figures. For example, how much on average for one full-screen background? How much for a small basic set of character walking animations?
Also, would anyone be willing to help an amateur with his non-profit game, just in his spare time?
Or am I looking in the wrong place?

Here's what I'm personally planning to do.
The game is an epic saga that will be divided into at least three parts. It's a unique blend of adventure and RPG. I'm still working on the [dialogue] script for the game, and I'm not going to actually begin implementation until that is complete. The game production will maintain an air of professionalism.
However, before I create the actual saga, I want to prove I'm serious about finishing these games by creating one or two short games, "preludes to the epic" if you will, that have some relevance to the saga. I'd like to secure an artist (and more artists later) for these "preludes" and for the future games in the series. |
