This is the first of a series of illustrations for a children's picture book written by an author named Paula Golden. The upper left corner area is quite bland, because there will be story text there. The picture is for a two page spread.

It is quite sickeningly sweet... Shocked The rest of the pictures will be less so...

I actually got the commission through the ArtWanted.com portfolio site -- first time from that site!

I think it's a very long time ago since I've last seen a picture with such a high average saturation... damn, it's colourfull. Still, I like it. Smile

It makes me happy. Its really fresh and colorfull.

I asked my cousin of 7 what he thought of the image, and He Liked it, he stared at it for some time. so the target audience also likes it!

great work again

Haha! Great stuff Phil. Really lovely illustration - I guess the family kids love it? I'd like my kid to read material like this if I had one. Keep it up!

"eyewoo"

...this will sure be what children wants! They love details and when there are a lot to explore by letting the eyes stroll about... I like the Icecream cornet stuck in the ground!! Smile
Nice to see illustrations to a fairytale here at sijun - I have also made this type of work if you want to look at mine. I put them under a thread named "Little red Riding Hood"

Matthew... thanks... yeah, "Cool Bus" works pretty well. The job is pretty well story boarded out by the author, but I did come up with the Cool Bus tag... Smile

liquid1... yeah... and me being currently on the Atkins diet -- a very vicarious picture for me!

Frode... I like to work in this high saturation style, but in this case, the client requested it... so... no problem...

merlyns... Cool! I'll pass that on to my client Smile

Frost... Well... when you do have kids, if I'm still on the planet, I hope to still be making pictures

Bobuke... Sure thing... Start a thread... Do you have a website?

the only thing i can think of (nitpicking) is make some sprinkles appear more in the background? It seems that theres a sheet of sprinkles raining down to me.
