I'm working on some character artwork. at the moment I'm at a very basic stage (general sketch) but I've come across a hurdle.
I'm struggling with the anatomy. from the top half up it looks good I think. But it's the legs, they are definitely wrong.
Hope someone can help.
Cheers.

the pelvis is way too small, and the linework on the legs looks more rushed and bumpy than the upper body. cutting off the feet is awkward, i think you should draw the rest of the body. you almost never see the face fully straight on, so i think it would be more interesting if you did it at even a little bit of an angle, but you could leave it too. the arms are kind of shapeless right now, they dont really indicate joints or muscles or anything. what kind of shirt is she wearing? it is loosely fit on the rest of her body, yet tight enough so you can see her nipple? i would also work on the facial features in general, they are not really in proportion. |

Thanks for the comments.
So you're saying the legs etc will look properly formed if the pelvis was bigger? That's the bit I'm struggling with.
the rest of it is just a general sketch, all the lines are to be made over.
As for the facial proportions, I see what you mean now, I'll cut them down. I was going for a bit of a manga feel, but I see what you mean.
And the top, yeah, that also needs addressing, it's either tight ore it isnt.
Thanks again bud

i think what u gotta do inorder to make the face look a bit better is to get rid of those lines goin up the bridge of the nose and only have the very bottom of it. Believe me, it'l make it look a lot better. _________________ -Chase |

A bit of reference will help you get the legs right. |

i think the hair is oddly symetrical. the eyes are too wide open, she looks like she'd seen a ghost. i think her facial expression and turn-angle make her look robotic and lifeless. as someone said before, remake it at a more relaxed angle and pay attention to facial expression. |

I've edited the image in my first post. It's now drawn out and also has some basic colour. There's still other things (such as equipment) that I'll be adding to her.
I just wanted to know if you could pic out faults. Such as any little niggly anatmoy details.
Also, suggestions for improvements on the actual drawing would be much appreciated.
Thanks. _________________ I only love you when I'm down, I'm only near you when I'm away. |
