I have noticed that Mr. Mullins uses some pictures as a "background" to paint over in his nice pics. Maybe they are some other pics or some kind of scribble, but....
...what's the purpose of that thingie? I guess it adds "life" to the picture, even though it is nearly completely overpainted.

My guess is that its just to cover the white canvas so to speak in the early stages, and ultimately give it some interesting texture. |
