Been a long time since I visited these boards. Happy to see Draw Club up and running again, will have to get into that.
These are from a street painting festival I do with my wife each year in San Rafeal, CA. Dimensions 9'x9'
The child's mouth was still wangly in the last photo. I fixed it up a bit later, but forgot to take a photo. _________________ -\// /<- |

Looks great. I did one of those one year, it's a lot of fun. Hard as hell, though, plus my fingers got totally torn up. I also left with a vicious sunburn. I like what you did there, though. Any photos from previous years? |

Normally I've destroyed my fingers, this year because of the bigger size I wore gloves, which ended up working out alright when you doubled them up.
Here are some previous years
1999
Only helped on the outside of this one, piece was done by Mark Wagner.

This year was special at the festival because they got a bunch of people together to do a 60' version of the sistine chapel. This thing was bad ass.

Awesome!
I have seen something like that around here couple of summers ago.
Nothing compared to your paintings though.
I love them. Great job. |

-Matthew
They are all done with pastel chalks. A few people use brushes, but for the most part it's all rubbed into the ground by hand.

Rain wouldn't matter much, these are done on a weekend Sat&Sun and on Sunday night they bring in firetrucks and wash it all off. |

When we had ours, there was an unexpected rainshower, everyone got totally frantic and just bolted down the street to the mall to buy tape and trash bags to cover their pieces. The entire town was chaos for about a half hour, as panicking artists stormed the streets and flooded the mall. It was awesome, especially for the people who had already finished and left for the day and no longer had any chance of winning. |
