Tomasis - Thanks very much! Got a little jiggy with the colours this time.
Matthew - Thanks! It's really an evil, devil-infested carnivorous tree. Or...not. But, still, glad you like it.
oDD - Thought I'd try something new this time! One has to always try to keep improving. _________________ Dignity isn't important. It's everything.

You are amazing!!! I remember seeing some of your older stuff with rats and I thought it was god-like... This one is absolutely awesome... but I miss the ratties and the fairy colors )))))))))
Thanks for doing this!!!

Hi Socar!
(long time follower of your work)
I like this one a lot. As usual, your paintings have so much story to tell.
That tree just kills me at how well done it is!
It strikes me odd though that the central part of the dog's left ear is a very similar color as the sky behind it - almost makes me think that there's a hole in his ear.
I love the random tossled technique that you use for the grass, seems very natural. |

4nton - Thank you very much--that is very high praise, and I'm flattered! The ear thing is a problem--there is supposed to be more detail and colour variation there, but when I shrank it down to less than 1/5 of the full resolution, I couldn't prevent it from becoming like that. It's hard to optimize very large images for Web display.
liquid1 - Thanks very much! I only wish I were really anywhere close to godlike!
Frost - Thanks! I find it hard to work with such bright colours, but I guess it's worth it in the end. I'll try and come to DSG soon...I'm moving next month, though, so I'm really busy at the moment. _________________ Dignity isn't important. It's everything.

I think this one is a clear improvement over some of your earlier dog portraits, Socar. The dog itself is much more solid and the anatomy is sharper. Great work, as always! Is there a reason the butterflies in the foreground are somewhat transparent? _________________ -=-=-=-
