One of my classmates handed this to me to read. Okay this is beyond sad. It's funny, but sad.

This just proves there are people out there that have way more free time than I.

If you haven't been here before check this out.

I'm not getting why its sad . . . you realize its satirical, right? Its not a real news story . . .

I mean:

http://www.theonion.com/onion3726/video_game_character.html

edit: oh, okay, you've just discovered the Onion its been around for years . . . wouldn't surprise me if its the most popular humor site on the net. There's a print version you can subscribe to also.

Hahah. Hope there's a sequel that makes fun of Eminem as well. They both deserve it.

balistic - ummm.... DUH! I know it's not real. Yeah give me some credit here.
And what's sad is that someone thinks these up.

As for "just discovered the Onion"... nope just haven't visited the site in awhile, but my classmate visits almost daily. The reason this one stuck out was the fact the Overland Park is a 3 hour drive from here. My boyfriend and I go there often for weekend get-a-ways.

It just struck me as a weird way to put it . . . how is getting paid to think up fake news articles more sad than getting paid to paint fake things?

I suppose I've never been too fond of when people refer to something as being "sad" even though the people being referred to are quite happy and/or justified in what they're doing. I realize you probably didn't mean it like that, but it has that invokation.

Hummm. Well considering that magazines that print "fake news articles" get sued on a regular bases. Because it is Slander (take Star or National Inquirer for instance)... where painting fake things normally isn't deframation of anyone's character that would get you sued, and most of the time the sueing is because of "stealing" the work not for what it is.

HELLO! It's figure of speech!

Tah, Hamster. The Onion handled September 11 with sheer grace and brilliance. Plus, The Onion tends to use real facts in its information, which is always a plus.

jaberwocky, what the onion does and what the national enquirer does is as different as black and white (not the people). the onion is parody and fully legal. kinda like what lowtax does, except funny.

the Onion provide fake news for the sole purpose of entertaint people. It's based on facts too, like the "Computer Graphics Designer and Adobe!" article you posted.
