Anyone here ever encounter this?: Last week I turn on my system and I have these wierd horizontal ghost lines extending from every image on my screen (the higher the contrast the darker the ghost). And they extend all the way to the edge of the monitor's screen- but only horizontally, no vertical ghosting. I've updated and reloaded all the drivers for my monitor and the graphics card. Today I went and borrowed a monitor, hooked it up, and the problem persists. I guess my next move will be to see if I can borrow a compatable video card and pop that in. I was just wondering if anyone here has ever come across this and found a cure? If it matters, my current card is an Nvidia GeForce 256, and the monitor doesn't matter since I've ruled that out as a possibility. Thanks in advance if anyone has any help. _________________ Smokey, this is not 'Nam this is bowling. There are rules. |

Yeah, defintely sounds like a card problem. Check if you have any magnetic interference next to your monitor. Specifically things like speakers, or a modile phone or power board...
Another thing is that it can sometimes be a loose connector pin or bent one. Have a quick look and while your at it get the duster out. ![Smile](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

There's no magnetic sources near my monitor, and yeah Bob I tried popping the card out and blowing it off- no change. I'm pretty sure it's the card though. I ran a diagnostic tool that Norton makes and the card failed the Bitmap test. I'm going to borrow another card today and try it, before I buy a new one. Thanks for the suggestions though guys. _________________ Smokey, this is not 'Nam this is bowling. There are rules. |

I've got the same problem. While it is an annoyance, its not too bad.
I'm pretty sure it changes when i change resolution. Its gotta be the videocard, unless maybe, you have a hansol 900P, and for some strange reason hanson engineered them to fail around this time. |
