Hi everyone. I wanted to ask if anyone could complie a list of suggested reading material. There are some titles that are quite famous amongst all the contributors of these forums but I'm just asking in case there are some titles I've never seen anyone mention but that are recommended.
Also one more thing. I have been trying to find books by Andrew Loomis. I found some places that had copies of the books I want but they cost way too much. I know these are old and rare books but I really can't afford to pay $200 for a book. Maybe I looked at the wrong place? Anyway I found a couple of places to download them from and before anyone starts bashing me for taking the easy way out let me tell you that it was no solution. Sure I got to read some from "Figure Drawing for what it's worth" and from "Creative Illustration" and it's great, but, the scans of the pages were very bad and I can't print them on my old dot matrix printer and this software I tried that recognises the text and makes a pdf out of the book isn't doing too well. As a result I have found myself rewriting whole pages and not getting any actual practice.
So I was wondering if anyone knows if I can get these two books from anywhere, cheap, or maybe someone might have a good pdf of the book, where text is text, not a bitmap.
I know you're all probably wishing me to go to hell, but if anyone could help me with this before casting me into the fiery pits I'd be grateful. |

Where text is text!? That's too much to ask!
Besides ... why should the result be better when printing?
The www.fineart.sk/anat versions should be good enough. _________________ http://www.conceptworld.org |

Sorry if my request seems too much, I just thought that maybe someone may have scanned the books and turned them directly into pdf's using programs like FineReader. Besides, there are scanned books with far more text in them that are being scanned and turned into pdf's (like every single Dungeons&Dragons books that has been released). If I had a copy of the book I'd do it and them distribute it on the internet, so I thought that maybe someone else might have done it already. As for the printing, have you ever tried to print a bitmap with a dot matrix printer, you can't read anything.
Anyway, thanks for the help, I'll see what I can do about this.
Cheers. |

That dot matrix should be in a museum not hooked to an artist's computer. ![Rolling Eyes](images/smiles/icon_rolleyes.gif) |
