Well, I have permission to show three pages of sequential art from "The Restless Season", my contribution to "Fleshrot" (www.fleshrot.com)...and here they are:
Page III - Li-Gui Rat carrying Fan-Chong Bird: Li-Gui Rat is carrying Fan-Chong Bird around on his back, across rivers and ravines, up mountains, and finally, at the end of the day, home.
Page IV - Li-Gui Rat Among the Flowers: Li-Gui Rat, having dropped Fan-Chong Bird off for the night, is hunting for dinner in a field of flowers. He wants to eat the snails, but they are hiding from him. Above, an owl is also hunting.
Page V - Li-Gui Rat Falling through the Stars: Li-Gui Rat, tired from ferrying Fan-Chong Bird around all day, has been caught by the Owl. He manages to escape, but the Owl has already bitten him. Is it too late for Li-Gui Rat? If you want to find out how things end for Li-Gui Rat, please buy the Fleshrot graphic novel. You'll like it!
EDIT - Oops, I forgot to mention--these pages are actually the unlettered versions, because I didn't do the lettering (John Pearson did). In the book, there is some text. _________________ Dignity isn't important. It's everything.

wasssup - Thank you very much! The names are Chinese...according to Lunatique, they mean "vengeful spirit" (Li-Gui) and "annoying pest" (Fan-Chong). If they mean something else, feel free to join me in a lynch mob against Lunatique.
ELLioT - Thank you!
Mon - Thanks very much! I hope to have the chance to do more work like this in future. (Vertigo Comics, ARE YOU OUT THERE?) <-----desperate plea _________________ Dignity isn't important. It's everything.

Im just confused by "frames" I didnt understand the story as well just only confusing.. Will I read from bottom to top? I would like it hehe
do you make the story yourself? I could recommend to read much manga.. that is a lot to learn from

Thanks for the explanation:) though, still not really understand what "fan-chong" exactly means...gotta get me a Chinese dictionary :p i think "li-gui" is kinda cool, sounds very evil.
Looking forward to the prints! |

Really nice work Socar. Your newer stuff (like, within the last year) looks so much better than when I first started seeing it a couple years ago... I'm totally diggin these pages. Fantastic job.

Malachi Maloney - Thanks...I should certainly hope so! It'd be pretty sad if I hadn't improved at all in two years.
jakub - Thank you! It's digital...I do use pencils sometimes, but I don't have a scanner right now, so whatever I post online is digital.
Max Kulich - Thank you!
wasssup - I think Lunatique said it was literally something like "insect pest", but could be used in the sense of "annoying pest".
Tomasis - They're digital paintings done with Photoshop. Sorry you don't understand the story--this isn't the complete story, though, just a three-page unlettered excerpt to show the art. _________________ Dignity isn't important. It's everything.

Hooray for neat lookin' grey-scale pixXx !!1
The proportions in that piece showing the rat and the well are pretty messed up tho.. unless that rat's got bigger cohones than me or that well's been made by midgets. _________________

666Flat - Well, proportionally speaking, a rat's cogliones would be bigger than yours, yes. I mean, have you ever seen a male rat? Yikes. But, for those perverts out there, that's his BELLY he's got his hands on, not his nards. Seriously, though, he IS a larger-than-normal rodent.
