That's way nice Elliot. The bridge really forces some depth into the plate. _________________ brian.prince|light.comp.paint |

im seein it now size. Its really cool.
hey, wildmyth? Would ya like some pointers? What you have there is a nice start, but what you need to do is not keep the brush at 100% opacity. I usually keep it from 10-40, but i barely ever go above that unless i need to fill in a large area fast. Also, did u work with layers? Always do this. For example, have that building in the foreground be on one layer, that water on another, and that ship thing on yet another layer. Having all of these above the background layer, which would be the photo. This way u can manipulate these specific areas of the image without changing the rest. Its really amazing, when u think about it. Another tip would be to use a lot of the same colors that are on the mountain, or, when ur done adding whatever you did to the photo (i.e a building) and it looks somewhat out of place, then just eye drop a color that is most seen in the image or the is the ovveral color of the area of which u added the building, and lightly airbrush over the building with that color. This will give the building the atmospheric tone of the area, therefore making it look like it "belongs" there. Dont know how much sense that made, but i hope this helps u out. good luck! _________________ -Chase |

Thanx Stone
Your tips are gonna help alot. I've been trying to figure out most of the things you explained. I wanted to ask someone, but I didnt want to sound dumb.
Can you give me a tips on texture for walls & getting more solid edges? _________________ WildMyth |

barret: dam
Wildmyth: What i usually do for textures is i take a hard-dge airbrush, at a really low opacity (with either a lighter or darker color of the base color) and...this is hard to explain through typing..... put down many strokes over and over again. This will eventually build up into a nice, solid looking texture that i think looks really good on many different types of surfaces.
heres a pic of what i mean:
this is just a very basic idea of what im talking about, but i think u'll get the idea from it.
about sharper edges: This is all about using layers. Lets say ur working with the mountain base photo and you made an object up in the sky someplace but one of the egdes of the object is all fuzzy. All u gotta do is take the eraser, on the same layer as the object, and erase the fuzzy ness to get a solid edge line.
hope this helps! _________________ -Chase |

Dearest Skelletor:
I hope you are well. As you know we have been flattening the top of Mount Mountain for the last six months. We have made tremendous progress. The stone that we have removed has been saved to construct the new Aztec style temple in your honor. Unfortunately last night some hooligans jumped over the fence and made off with 180 million tons of stone. We currently have no stone to build the temple and are looking into several options.
Yours in Evil

Wow, I almost completely overlooked this thread. Not only does the thread idea rule. But the work you guys have here is really fantastic. Finer, M. C. Barrett, Elliot, Max, the list goes on and on... Really great stuff everyone.
~M~
PS. I gotta do one of these now, gonna have to resurrect this thread later. ![Wink](images/smiles/icon_wink.gif) _________________ l i q u i d w e r x |

And the sun goes down on one of the best Draw Clubs we've had. I think we'll return to this type of Draw Club from time to time. Good fun.
Draw Club #13 is up and awaiting your undivided (and unsubtracted) attention. Go forth. _________________ Art Links Archive -- Artists and Tutorials |
